So are we holding Dame to a standard this year or does he get to play the perpetual underdog? Again

We can go down the line position by position.
Curry had playmakers in Draymond, Livingston, and Iggy who allowed him to take advantage of his greatest strength. Even Bogut was known as one of the best passing big in the league. Creating for each other in a system designed to do so when Steph sat down.

Klay and Barnes as his knockdown shooters with postup abilities as wings, Iggy and Dray as serviceable shooters and at-the-rim finishers, Livingston being a hallmark of mid-range efficiency. This same nucleus turning around being the blueprint for Switch Everything Defense with everyone but Steph being 6'6"-6'8" and quick, Bogut in his staggered minutes providing rim protection, charge drawings, dirty work and eating fouls for Draymond.

Where is any of this on this Blazers team?

CJ and Simons can make plays. CJ and Trent are shooters. Covington and Little can defend the wing and Nurkic and Kanter can score in the post.

Why y’all hate dame so much?
Naw no hate. His fans just like to have their cake and eat it to. Wanna herald him (some of them) as the best pg in the league but scare to hold him to a standard that they hold players who are lesser than him (according to them) to

$ been killing the questions are for portland as a franchise*
Other than the okc one....what playoff series has he “killed” tho?
If by kill you mean in the regular season, than yeah I guess. But I distinctly remember his team being good enough to get a 3 seed and then losing to a 6 seed. Cant blame the franchise for yo pg shooting sub 40%.

Y’all outta excuses man. Time for him to put up

the luxury of having off series is not one he has

the team should be able to get you a series when the #1 is being keyed in on

this is simple reasoning

dame.$ gets the respect he does from his peers etcetera for working with what's on his plate

it's more pieces to success than just expecting one player to make it happen

if that's the case it's ice or nothing for chef this season right¿

Lol He’s had nothing but them is the point my guy . Like literally nothing but off series over his 8 or 9 year career, and the rosters have had turnover over that span....so the issue is him. Stop blame deflecting. He’s the leader he has to step up at some point and transcend....if he’s the player y’all allege him to be that is

This has already happened so the talent is there. But if your leader is deadass and no exaggeration shyt in every series he participates in, it’s only so much galvanizing you can expect the role/lesser players to do. He’s getting paid the big boy bucks to elevate them and not just himself, not the other way round....again, blame deflecting

A.I got more peer love than the Glove. KG more peer love than Duncan etc etc....that means nothing. And you just said nothing

This thread has nothing to do with Steph, stay on topic. This is about Dame. It’s y’all who claim, it’s y’all who allege that he’s better than or at the very worse equal to Steph....so the expectations of a “lesser” player are moot in this evaluation of Dame. Stop bringing him up, y’all do that a lot when you have no substantive defense for why ya boy folds every year and why y’all be scared to hold him to any type of standard.
