So are we ready to admit that Reigns is a better worker than Cena right now?

Because the constant coaching is most likely the problem? With word getting out last year that sometimes storylines and promos are rewritten on Monday itself forcing the wrestlers to memorize their fully written promos only hours in advance is going to hurt them because they can't act natural. Look at how much different (specifically, how much better) The New Day has gotten now that they have admittedly far more freedom to do their own thing, their own way.

Hell, just look how unnatural Stone Cold and HBK sounded cutting those Vince-written Network promo's a couple weeks back. Some guys are more comfortable with it than others but the heavy 'follow the lines' scripting is hurting a lot of these guys on the mic. Ryback's live promo's and interviews got so bad they now only got him doing those pre-recorded promo's they show while entering the ring.
Very good point. But you are ruining your new flag ship with this. Since WWE doesn't groom its stars anymore, if Roman fails, that's it really. He only has 2 issues, his lack of moves and PROMOS. These are stupid problems for your new face to have.

They should just slow down with the coronation, let him be a heel for awhile, and come back after a money feud double turn with Seth.

I'll admit, I really try to like Reigns. Then he cuts a promo, and I have to reset everything again. I'm sorry. He cuts promos like a bad actor. He empathizes the wrong words, which makes his swagger seem inauthentic.

I'm just not feeling it, sorry. And I'm nowhere near a neckbeard. Watch a Rick Martel promo, and then a Roman Reigns one. How a steroid junkie model gets it better than someone actually being coached constantly :mindblown:?

Then watch a Curt Henning promo, and then a Roman Reigns one. Hell, if you want to find a similar age, watch a 2003 Brock Lesnar promo, then Reigns.
i dont like reigns like that but sometimes hes alright. at times he shows shades of Jumpin' Jeff Farmer
i can agree with curt hennig. hell even jeff hardy was better. but roman is slowly turning for me.

Cena hasnt done much since the Owens feud, and even then he isnt what he once was in ring, but I truly believe Cena is a tremendous wrestler and always have. When the guy is on, he's the best

the coronation is like buying your 12 year old son a hooker. it can either help or ruin him for life.

Same here. I dreaded Reigns winning the tournament, but was looking forward to the feud now. I saw some improvement, when he was getting ready for Seth. I think he knew it could make or break him and trusted Seth's lead. Then this Kane fukkery :francis:.

I'll just hang back and watch. There have been a lot of good improvements brought up in this thread. I just hope he sees them. But no matter how much I hate John Cena, no way Roman is ahead in anything right now.

[start at :45 if he does a heel turn, this would be the shyt]

i like that santino video of his old gimmick. he does need more judo/sambo esque throws. it'd suit him. and he needs a submission finisher. something that signifies power.
that running powerslam could be a good spear setup. especially in high profile matches
Question:if you could, how would you book cena's return up to the 16th title?? id want him to become more of a tweener. somewhat of an a$$hole. let the power he's had get to his head slightly. have a slight jekyll/hyde thing going. something subtle.

The only thing stopping Roman Reigns from going to the top of the mountain are the Daniel Bryan stans.

If they didn't rear their ugly head earlier this year, Reigns would have been a 2x champion by now.

Did he deserve it?

Look back at the road to wrestlemania last year, watch Reigns work and tell me that he has what it takes to be WWE Champion

I believe cena is an average wrestler with good mic skills. He gets to be in these good to classic matches because he's been getting the opportunity to perform against some of the best in ring wrestlers of the last decade.

I can see that reigns is on his way to that as long as he continues to improve and continues to stay in that upper echelon position with the company.

Not just that

He tried to....Punk wanted to stay face but Vince wanted a heel to face Rock at Rumble 2013 so he told Punk that he could stay face and keep racking up his merchandise sales in that facet and Vince was gonna have Bryan win the payoff match against Punk where AJ was the referee but Punk compromised his whole belief system just so he could be in the ring with the Rock. That wasn't enough though..he was supposed to be turned heel to face Rock at Rumble..Ok..but he tried to be SLICK and thought he could get a 50/50 win split with the Rock and somehow leverage that into a WM 29 main event spot. He's admitted to this openly and much to everyone's laughter showing how frail his ego and confidence truly is.

Anybody got a link to when Punk spoke on The Rock feud?

I don't have a direct link, but he spoke about it on Colt Cabana's podcast. If you haven't listened to that 2 part interview, and you're interested in the CM Punk leaves WWE saga, the whole thing is a must listen.

He sells his matches a lot better to be fair. I am more invested in his matches these days.

He isnt there yet but I have no problem with him being champ. They just need to stop overwriting his promos - he is doing that summarizing bollocks they make Cena do :scusthov:
