As a people, 100 yrs is still considered modern, I'm speaking about when migrations happened and genetic divergence of phenotype was differentiated. So I when I say that the original people of Egypt were of African/black, that has no bearing on your wife or anyone within hundreds of years of her due to genetic mixing of a people that never changed the people ethnically at that time. Original Egyptians were a Nubian people of Africa. The people Iranians descended from were not. Its not about an imaginary line. But again, with all the diaspora and immigration and racial mixing up til modern day, its more about ethnicity than it is race. Thats why its crazy for people to be racist because NO ONE is 100% anything genetically. It doesn't negate the race factor genetically though.

If two groups of people, like Native Australians and Native Americans, have absolutely no historical, genetic, or cultural connections with each other, then why insist that they belong to the same race?

And why isn't a native Ghanaian or a native Siberian just as much a "native" as someone from Australian or Alaska?

Regarding the Indigenous people of various continents they ARE historically and genetically connected to eachother. It just matter how far you'd have to go back. But the Indigenous people of Siberia are just as native Australians and Alaskans imo.
