I never expected Minneapolis to be like this when I moved up here
When I read the stat that this city (and St Paul) has the widest racial gap in the country, part of me was real surprised. But then I thought about it more, and it makes perfect sense. How many of us are underemployed and unemployed?

I went to Lake Millie Lacs just the other weekend and was hella out of place
I’ve worked in several corporate settings where the existence of black folks seems to dissapate at every increased level. We had a company party at Target field and me, my homie, and this other woman were the only black people who weren’t servers in that fukking suite. And there was like 300 people in that bytch

I've lived in Minnesota for like half my life now and used to visit Duluth as a shorty often as my stepmom parents live there. I have absolutely no idea why you so mad breh. My dear my parents broke up when I was an infant and I would alternate years there as a child since my dad stayed here, and ultimately spent my last years of high school up here. I went to the coast guard, got stationed in duluth after I was stationed in chicago. I've been off and on between minneapolis and chicago literally my whole life. So yes, I was raised here
