I feel like Desus is gonna be alright and a part of fewer things but bigger things going forward, and Mero we won't see as much. Desus already hosted Kimmel post the split while Kimmel was on vacation. But those kinds of things won't do anything but fan the flames of "going Hollywood" or being a Hollywood weirdo.

But it's always been clear, just by being someone who watched and listened to them for years, that Desus has a more mass appealing personality and the ability and desire to go further than Mero, which isn't inherently a bad thing. In fact it's not a bad thing at all I don't even know why I said that. For some reason in the culture the ability and desire to do more and be more is looked at sideways. We gotta stop doing that.

The only way you'd be able to keep the Bodega Boys thing going forever would be if Mero was the kind of guy who was happy letting Desus go off and do more things without him and be happy for him, but seeing that he's already done a couple 'interviews' talking and Desus hasn't said shyt tells me that's not the case.

People really underestimate how much Mero did in the background. I think Desus is funnier, but MERO was legit the one that got them their deals. Desus lines more with my humor and like someone I'm too lazy to quote expertly said, "he's like a nerd who wants to be an extrovert", but let's be real, Mero was the one with the blogs and already doing shyt. He brought Desus up with him.

I’ve always seen Mero in more outside stuff than Desus
Outside of Kimmel and pics, I haven't seen Desus in anything. Mero still does a bunch of shyt and at least streams. At first, I thought Mero was in the wrong, but over time, I see his point. Desus never told him what he wanted to do, and expects Mero to just sit there, not record or do anything because Desus wants to go to Hollywood and shyt. It'd make sense if this was early, but these guys have been paired since like 2013 and are in their late 30's. You're telling me you can't be straight up with each other at that age?

If Mero is doing a lot why can't he move on? Desus isn't talking about him, that's how professionals handle these things. Mero out here acting like a rapper, good luck to him lol

So it seem like neither of these dudes are making moves without each other....

Yeah I think both are funny but they are definitely a package deal. Like everyone said they had a good balance and chemistry that will seem off without the other. Deus without Mero or Mero without Desus just seems weird.

Desus is smart to keep running in those Hollywood circles though. What is Mero doing now, Twitch streams and some weird morning show with a white lady or some shyt?

To keep it real, Desus is kind of the nerd who tries to be a extrovert, so he appeals to that element. Mero aint no street dude but hes more of a loud drunk extrovert. They balanced well.

I'm not here to defend buddy outright, but he was a legit [graff] writer; trust that nikka is down to get busy

Eh, those 2 were working together for damn near 10 years and built up a huge following. There was always gonna have to be some explanation for why this went down the way it did. Now if Mero still talking about it in 2024 I’d understand this point

I think I can figure out why they broke up the podcast, Desus seems to be going in a different direction:scust:

A lot of y’all ignoring the obvious reason for the split :dame:

Mero is being nice saying Desus is a weird dude. Desus is trying to work his way up the ladder in Hollywood, by any means necessary :dame: their morals and values are clearly different

I like em both but cmon man, you could tell from Day 1 that desus was the corporate friendly, clean cut one. Will say and do what he needs t odo to get in those upper circles and preserve access.

And if that fallout story was true (and it probably is) Im also not surprised that Mero was the loyal ride or die type dude for the producer (victor). Mero does seem like the type of dude who is loyal to his day 1s, for better or worse. gotta respect that
