I love how 3 years ago people were saying GKMC was getting no play, that all of Kendrick's hype was on the internet, now people are going "GKMC had hits that had people bumping it, you heard BDKMV everywhere, nothing on this album is like that." :mjlol:

Yup a lot of girls were feeling that whole album period. I haven't heard one girl talk about the new one

I've heard women talk about this one.

That's my point. When GKMC came out the coli was saying no one was bumping it. Now when it's time to shyt on TPAB, people are saying that everyone was bumping GKMC.

It's ridiculous.

TPAB has sold more at the same point than GKMC, broke spotify records, but apparently no one is bumping it, they're making no sense.

This is just a stupid response. TPAB is living off the hype of gkmc. That's why it has sold so much. And it only broke spotify records the first day because everyone wanted to hear it. iTunes has lowered the price after just two months being released on to pimp a butterfly.

Same shyt here with 50 cent get rich or die trying and his second album the massacre

The amazing was amazing. Can't believe motherfukkers tryna diss that jazz, R&B soul and funk sound. That shyt that shaped the way music is made today. Guess they only want those computerized sounds and claps that's easier for simpletons to digest. Nevermind the lyrics and concept which pushes listeners into deep thought. The lyrics were exactly what we needed. Pro-black topics such as fighting racists oppressors, the system that creates these criminals in poor communities, colorism among ourselves and most of all loving yourself. Real nikkas and music lovers fukk with this. The fact dudes are trying so hard to make this out to be a "flop", a "disappointment", or "overrated" probably means their minds weren't ready for something like this or there's a deeper issue with themselves (whites who can't handle intelligent conversations about race or worse, House Negros)

You're creating a straw man. No one said this and you could hear GKMC everywhere because it had songs that people could replay.

As another poster said this album did those numbers off the success of GKMC.

I am afraid to say from a sales-point of view that Kendrick Lamar flopped with his recent album sales. Not to mention no hot singles to promote his albums either.
Not exactly. The Blacker The Berry had a lot of people fooled into thinking the album was gonna sound like that. But I would have copped the album too if I didn't dl it first and listen to it.

:patrice:What record did he break exactly? 8 million fans of s80 and GKMC listening to you new album in 24hrs.
:whoo:wow.
Then only 500k of those fans turn up to ACTUALLY BUY the album.:scust:
You telling me only 500k people like Kendrick breh???:what:
:heh:I loved s80 and GKMC but couldn't stand his new shyt.

Blacker the berry made us all think we were getting some west coast riding shyt for the summer and we ended up getting a mess of a project. I still like him as an artist, but he needs to not follow Kanye's route so hard. At least Ye gave us 3 albums before 808s though.
That's par for the course for music consumption in 2015.
People will listen to music but many won't commit to a purchase.
With that said moving 500,000 records in 2015 is an impressive feat
no matter how you slice it :yeshrug:

Also "Blacker the berry" doesn't even sound remotely close to "riding music".

The album was dope..the hype just came and went because it was on some other planet shyt production-wise and sometimes lyric-wise, not because it was wack.

I think the wrong single was released though. I got a theory and some might think it's far fetched but I think Ms. Erykah Badu possibly had something to do with the direction of TPAB, because if you listen to Section.80 and GKMC, they're pretty much in the same vein.
