it dropped and 5 minutes later people called it the goat album only to not talk about it 2 weeks later:mjlol:, they prolly digested the lyrics and realized that its a boring garbage 1 dimensional faux militant album filled with respectability politics disguised as being pro-black.. and the same type of people who shytted on raven symone, diddy, stacey dash, and several other famous c00ns dikkrode kendrick and gave him a pass because they liked how the music sounded

I'm happy this shyt is struggling to go platinum and Cole is gonna outlast him when its all said and done:smug50:
Uhh...it's not militant or one dimensional. You're right about the hype, tho.

The album is not for rap fans. It's for kendrick fans. Its less product and more art. A project like this released on this level is enough to make it not a flop. I love it. It's a sleeper, tho. The dilemma is what they want vs. What k dot has to offer. He makes mood music. Maybe next year you'll be in the mood. I'd consider it a early Christmas present.
Just some thoughts.

No. That would be KA. Kenny tried to make a big album and failed. It's no coincidence he's now team d with Taylor Swift to regain some lost pop footing.

You act like it was all of a sudden. That mainstream stuff is calculated. I doubt that taylor swift thing was an emergency pr move.

I was talking more about the reggae album cause no one wanted to even hear what it sounded like. When I listened to that new Kendrick I knew I was never gonna play it again. And rappers like Young Thug might be taco bell rap, but cotdamm if his songs aren't more digestible than that c00n shyt Kendrick be singing and dancing to. I feel like the only people that will like that album are university majors who go to spoken word lounges and recite poetry. He should stick to the music he makes best. That experimental shyt threw me off the K Dot bandwagon. He needs to come 100x harder next time to make me a fan again.

And I was pissed to, cause that cover looked so gangster, but you know what they say about covers.

Artists should be allowed to experiment...

He'll be back and even if he doesn't meet whatever lofty standards you've set

He already gave us GKMC

This has been a strange year for Kendrick. I feel like that (was it VIBE magazine?) interview where he came off sounding real dumb about that Mike Brown shyt hurt him in the long run. It's like once people discovered he was an imbecile politically, he lost the Good K.I.D and became the Good c00n. :pachaha:

As a result, he's forced into this ideological box for the second album which should have been a victory lap (remember "Control" verse?) and comes off trying to throw shots at white supremacy :pacspit:and scold the homees for being too ignorant at the same time :sas1:

Unfortunately, you can't be all things to all people so his musical triumph is simultaneously dulled by his immature rhetoric. All things considered the record is still incredible and deserves the praise it got for the most part. I don't really play it that much anymore tho :yeshrug:
