I have all 3 VR headsets (PSVR, VIve, OR), and I haven't played either of them in weeks. Did VR flop?
The graphics have a screen door effect. There are no killer apps (in fact the highest rated VR game is a port [Rez]). Did this shyt flop brehs?
It makes me sad to say it, but it might just be a fad or a gimmick. What do you all say?
I always scratch my head when I see people going on about VR like it's something newThey had this push multiple times throughout the gaming generations, working head sets / head tracking and all ...and each time it's failed. Now that's not to say a good push can't be made now but the proplem has always been matching the games with the hardware. Every time this has come there was always shytty games that accompanied it. Hell I played a couple VR games at the mall back in the 90's
As a matter a fact this is the one I played...

This has more to do with firms not wanting to be beat to market or fall to far behind the loop if a technology hits. like 3D TV or google glass they will leave en-mass if "they" deem it flops. With that said I definitely believe in the tech & concept. That's actually why I went to school for software engineering was ideas around that tech.
But I don't see anything that pulls me... except one.

While everybody else is looking to "follow the market" it looks like Mark .Z has further reaching planes. I.E. the VR push for him seems to be a means to an end![]()
If the whole VR thing flops again he'd still have his people in the lab. For him VR is a puzzle piece to something bigger.
Thats my take anyway![]()
idk about PSVR, but with the Vive it's better to have it low like in that picture. otherwise it gets slightly out of focus if you tilt your head down![]()

Also, one of the biggest factors limiting the success of VR is the difficulty of demoing it. It's impossible to appreciate how good the tech is without actually using the headset yourself. It's no surprise that many would scoff at the idea of dropping $399 for something that's unproven to them. I've mentioned this before, but I had completely written VR off and was not going to buy it until I tried it at a friends house. My VR disposition did a 180 that day, and I've heard nothing but positive impressions from the family and friends that have tried my PSVR. Word of mouth will make this thing go far...
Its really not that heavy and pretty cool, just a lack of apps/games to make it dopeLooks like my head would snap off after playing that shyt with all that stuff on my head
