It's a failure cause it's expensive and anti-social in concept.

They should've given us Augmented reality glasses instead that also lets you play games.

That can also increase tint or reflection to turn into shades.

Lets you check ya email, fb, shyt like that.

You know, something that's actually practical and versatile.

OK
Also, one of the biggest factors limiting the success of VR is the difficulty of demoing it. It's impossible to appreciate how good the tech is without actually using the headset yourself. It's no surprise that many would scoff at the idea of dropping $399 for something that's unproven to them. I've mentioned this before, but I had completely written VR off and was not going to buy it until I tried it at a friends house. My VR disposition did a 180 that day, and I've heard nothing but positive impressions from the family and friends that have tried my PSVR. Word of mouth will make this thing go far...

It needs a gen of consoles that comes bundled with VR headset. Reasonably priced. Then we'll see more developers put more money into games.
For PC you'd need to convince people to buy it first.

Same for me, and you hit the nail on the head.
I hated on VR heavily before using it. My PSVR was given to me as a gift on my last birthday. After using it once my opinion completely changed. It's NOTHING like gaming on a TV. There is nothing on the market that even remotely compares to the experience of VR. I blame the PSVR skepticism 100% on what I consider to be Sony's lack of marketing behind the product. They NEED to have a demo unit in every Best Buy, Walmart, ToysRus, etc. that they can get into. Videos will never do it justice and I honestly don't blame the skeptics. $400 is too much to gamble with. You have to convince the people first.

PSVR is the first of its kind for consoles. You're asking for leaps and bounds out of a headset that hasn't even been out 6 months.
As far as the earbuds you can wear any headphones you want with it. :stopitslime:

The majority of people saying it flopped seems to be people who never tried it or w/e. Everyone I've shown VR to was super impressed with it.

Seems to fit either way.

I wear mine lower than wear this girl has hers, not as low as the guy in your picture. I find the image is more clear when you wear it a little low and keep the visor high.

No, VR is incredibly difficult to make as a mainstream item, really the tech is still in the early childhood stages. VR is still maybe 5-10 years away.
