VR will be a niche product at best for a long, long time. Too expensive to expect mass adoption.

Facebook getting in the VR game is quite honestly a terrifying proposition so I think I'll stay the fukk away

It needs a couple big FPS games to implement it to really take off, in my opinion. I'm really curious to hear how good the VR is for Resident Evil 7, especially since the whole game is supposed to be playable with it. That's the first big litmus test to me.

Too early to flat out call it a flop.
I hated on it heavily until I tried it myself and now I love it.
At the price of $400 on the low side I think a lot of people will be in the same boat of skepticism. Sonys lack of strong marketing push isn't helping either in their case.
I've played a bunch of GREAT VR games but it'll still not confident I could tell someone they HAVE to get one. It's special. I hope they improve on the hardware, software, and the price.
I'm confident VR will have a place in the future of home gaming, to what extent remains to be seen.
Sidenote: After playing vr I actually prefer it over traditional gaming. There just aren't enough AAA games for it, or at least long (10+ Hour games)
