And this is why this board ain't shyt.

First of all, nobody was talking about Draymond shutting down Cap. There's a difference between guarding and shutting down.

Now, if you had bothered to actually read properly and look at the context of the discussion, it was based around a hypothetical series between the '87 Lakers and '16 Warriors; Cap was 39 years old in 1987 and was well past his prime. Far, far, less capable defenders than Draymond managed to defend him that season.

To provide further context this is what they said:

"There is nothing disrespectful about this whatsoever. You are taking this to mean Cap would be shut down, I'm saying he'd have a guy assigned to him that would play great defense and have a supporting cast that would help with the assignment. Defending superstars is a TEAM concept, this is not a game of 1on1 basketball especially in the current era."

"Fronting, being a brick wall as he's trying to establish post position, poking the ball away as he tries to dribble in the post and swarming him before the ball even gets there. Kareem was a very willing passer outside the post and the Lakers ran offense through him, you could make him give the ball up and thats what the Warriors would do. This isn't as unimaginable as ya'll make it seem"

@UpAndComing made that thread and took what that poster said out of context just so he could get daps.

Seems to me you spoke before you even researched what I was talking about.
And I see you called out on the first page so I understand the feelings you putting out.
And still at 39 Dray not stopping or slowing down shyt.:russ:
Now type a paragraph back like someone shytted on a family member yours.
And have the nerve to talk about how the rest of the board acts:hhh:

Why is it inconceivable to you that an All-Time defender could potentially limit a 39 year old KAJ for a game :jbhmm:

You nikkas sure love romanticizing past players my god these nikkas were human

But where the meme tho:feedme:
The meme is Draymond can shutdown Cap. How is that not obvious, after you said it in your initial post?
Seems to me you spoke before you even researched what I was talking about.
How the fukk does this even make any cotdamn sense when I was involved in the original discussion and have been involved in nearly every single discussion around it ever since?

It seems like you're the one who spoke before doing their proper research after you got caught out.

:lolbron:
And still at 39 Dray not stopping or slowing down shyt.:russ:
And that's because like the majority of folks on here you don't know what the fukk you're talking about.

Draymond Was Always A Piece Of The Puzzle Who Thought He’d Carry A Team And Average 25 Points A Night? :heh:
It's one of many straw man arguments that's used to discredit this team and the players on it.

:manny:

The funny thing is, if this team came up in the 90s or 80s or 70s, and had the same amount of success, this board would treat Draymond, Steph, Klay etc like Gods, and they wouldn't stand for any type of criticism or slander. In fact, they'd probably be overrated, but because they're the face of today's era, these muh'fukkas do whatever they can to tear them down.

Draymond, like most players, is dependent on circumstances being right in order for him to be his best. People bought into his "intangibles" and "heart" and "leadership" and "toughness" and failed to realize that that ain't shyt if you don't have the necessary skills or fire power around you. Not to mention he ain't the tough, he's a bully with all bark and not bite. Basically a shorter, less talented KG. The thing that has really fukked him is his shot going straight to hell. During the 73 win season he was actually a threat from deep. His shot has gotten worse and worse since then. He's already undersized and not the greatest athlete and hasn't always stayed in the greatest shape and now the wear and tear is looking like it's catching up to him AND he doesn't have all that talent around him and you get what you see with him now. Him and Steph were in a similar boat in that they were very dependent on the likes of Klay and Iggy and eventually Kevin but because Steph was the golden boy shooting from halfcourt and Draymond had the "dog" people flipped it the other way around.

Draymond is one of those players that when the team is great and you limit him to do what he’s good at (playmaking, pick and roll, help defense) he’s great. Now if all those pieces ain’t together then
