I shytted all over that $20 2k. didn't think there was anyway possible a half price game could compete w/ the gawd madden. well I was wrong and unfortunate for me I found how wrong I was years later. competition is a good thing. quite possibly the last natural motivator to improve quality in the corporate world......

Outsource competition. There is a reason why Madden in the PS3/360 generation was very underwhelming and the sales dipped. Plus it made a lot of NFL gamers stop playing football games altogether

EA/2k had the same chance of bidding on the NFL license.
the NFL maybe didnt like they priced they're product at 20 dollars....who knows, the NFL loves exclusive deals in todays time

and how long exactly if 2k made a football game would it be before its good. do they have a team together, we dont know

Personally 2K should just make a football game regardless of NFL License. Sorta like Fire Pro Wrestling.
They basically did.

It's funny that all these dudes think 2K would just come through and make a GOAT football game, when they tried that with All Pro 2K and produced a very :ld: product.

As someone else mentioned, those NFL2K brehs are long gone.

Not that I don't want more football titles, I completely do. But I can already see a 2K game coming out and people rushing to instantly praise it the same way people instantly hate on Madden, regardless of how it actually plays.

Let's not forget the NFL Players' Association is a part of this, too. With just one exception (GameLoft's NFL 2010 for iPhone, no longer available), Madden's console and mobile offerings are the only games with an NFLPA group license for the past eight years. The NFL license gives a video game the teams' names, uniforms and symbols, but the NFLPA's license gives it more than 2,000 real world players.

That's exactly what happened. The NFL thought 2K was cheating them out of their money by not selling it full price so 2K didn't stand a chance in the bidding war

Angry Joe sums it up perfectly. Start at 1:37
