Any progressive male in the year 2012 should have a couple of pieces in his home. At least a stationary bike, free-weights, Punching bag/speed bag, bench press. etc. You should just build a home gym. One it's convenient. Two you never have to wait on equipment.

Man I'm really considering going this route but I dont have the space in my townhouse right now.

My gym fee is $40 a month but its the only one in the area with two full basketball courts and decent competition. Gym is good too. but its 30 mins away from the crib.

Honestly lets be real. How many of us actually use the stuff we pay for. I go to golds and use the elliptical or treadmill these suckers only got 1 C2 Rower how you gone have 1? Hardly no pullup bars only 1 damn tire and no ropes. But they got all these stupid as machines. All I need is oly bars, weights, squat rack, free weights, I think the only machine I use is the leg press.

I ain't using the cardio theater, too damn cold to be swimming and I ain't sitting in that room with them naked old nikkas.

I need to find a way to make my 40 dollars worth it because to be honest I can go to the gyms on post for free. I just don't like going on post on the weekends or after work.

So you spending $480 a year when you could drop that much on a cheap cycle, get some free weights and be good. Like today I woke up. Put on my weighted vest. Went downstairs, hit the punching bag for 45 minutes, did some weighted lunges, etc.

Now I'm about to get on the stationary bike and watch the games. :yeshrug:

I know it is an experience to be at the gym with the fellas, but you add in the cost of gas to and from the gym, that $40 dollars a month is a lot more.
@Mr Hate Coffee

I don't play basketball so...

But why don't people play outside anymore?

Because its cold as fukk outside right now. Do you stay in an apartment or house? I'm curious as to where you find the space for equipment.

Oh okay. I stay in the south where it's warm all year long for the most part. I got a house. All my equipment is in the basement. If you don't have room just make sure it's high in your priorities list on your future spot.

A lot of times when we building that man-cave it really becomes a glorified fat body haven, tv's and wet bars and what not. Just an excuse to get fat. Build a gym breh. You walk downstairs and see your own spot, you feel good. Especially when you can hang up your own inspiration pieces i.e. diplomas, certificates, etc. And just get piece at a time so you don't spend so much at once. I'm still building breh. I'm saving up my bench set, then maybe a dip/pull-up set.

I mean it isn't nothing crazy. I had to get the flooring cause that floor be cold as hell. I got the weighted vest, bag and speed bag, free weights, medicine ball, resistance bands. I got a sound system in the corner for music. The room is pretty big. Realistically I can get a bench set in there and be comfortable.

:manny:

My stationary bike is upstairs in the living room along with stability ball.

I go to planet fitness :manny: I use to shyt on it but come to think about its a nice gym. More for maintenance but their is more than enough equipment. Plus I pay 20 a month I can take whoever I want to the gym. No questions asked no tours my folks can just work out with me. I also have access to any other location in the country. To me you can't beat that :yeshrug: I do hate the maintenance fees once a year :beli:

To the guy paying 105 a month do you go to life fitness?

I know they are high but their facilities are :whew:

One in my area had 2 basketball courts with a ref 3 times a week for pick up games. 2 olympic style pools 2 levels of cardio equipment.

Nah man, thats way too much money on a gym membership. Where do you live and what kind of services are they providing? That thing better have a NICE indoor swimming pool, sauna, indoor basketball courts, race track, tons of treadmills, elliptical machines, free weights, a wall to climb on, all top of the line leg machines, bunch of squat machines...everything.

i pay $60 a month($200 down) and my gym has everything you listed plus a health food cafe and Health Spa\Salon. Life Time Fitness - The Healthy Way of Life Company

I could never workout anywhere else now...this place has completely spolied me. :smugdraper:
