...and I fear it's going to get in the way of my progress. I've started P90x an after week 3, I noticed that about every 2 -3 hours I get hungry or feel the need to eat something. Sometimes the stomach rumblings occur a few hours even after a big meal.

I try to make sure that my meals consist of vegetables and high protein items, chicken & beef, but lately it's been whatever keeps me full. Its a bit unsettling because I want to lose weight and its just a different lifestyle change for me to have to eat so much.

I will say that I have seen gains though in muscle mass and I am getting more muscular. Any advice?

I'm sure this is natural but I'm mainly looking for suggestions to maximize the times I do eat so I'm not eating as often throughout the day.

are you strictly following the P90X diet as well? (meaning eating what they say you should eat, right amount of portions and calories, not more calories, not less calories)

No, I've been basically been following my own diet. I gotten rid of most of my junk foods and filled my fridge with healthier options like fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. I don't count calories but I do monitor the portions in which I eat.

are you purposefully dieting? counting cals etc?

make sure you know exactly how "little" you need to eat, no need to have a deficit greater than 800 cals a day imo

secondly, check your vitamins and kill water like its your job

Thats actually good. Following diets are stupid. Its all about knowing within yourself what you can and cannot eat to see progress. Diets always fail. And portion watching is the best thing you can do. Youre on the right track and your hungrier because your metabolism is growing and your burning more calories which is what you want.

i think that's the problem right there. chances are you're not getting enough calories.

a lot of the P90X program is very reliant on the nutrition plan. following the nutrition plan to a T and doing all the workouts will maximize your results. you don't have to eat the exact same things they suggest but at least follow the portion plan (portions of carbs, protein, fruits and veggies, etc)

at the VERY LEAST follow their calories guideline and make sure you stay within that range. so say you follow their formula and you're suppose to eat 1800 cals a day, make sure you at least eat that or else you will feel hungry, won't progress as fast, etc. from what i hear, a lot of people on P90X say that they actually have trouble eating as much as the nutrition plan says you should. eating 1800-2000 calories a day only on fruits, veggies, meat and low carbs with no fast food, juice, soda, candy, etc is actually pretty hard for a lot of people.

I see. When I first got P90x, it recommended that I ate close to 2700 calories. Me being ignorant about fitness and dieting I thought that was too much. I'll revisit the nutritional guide and make adjustments.

P90x achieves a deficit through increased activity rather than decreased food. Same result.

DO THE PROGRAM...

..then adjust based on real world results.

its easy to say this, but if you've never seen quantitatively what a good portion is how can you make a judgement if the portion is legitimate? :ohhh:

the 6 meals a day etc diets are a farce made to get people to spend more money

eating healthy is expensive all bullshyt aside, if you know what your diet goals are (Calories, proteins, etc) you can just eat what you want within those boundaries :manny:

naw, with the amount of work you're putting in every day on p90x, it doesn't sound like too much at all. just make sure the 2700 calories is your maintenance level and then if your goal is to lose weight or whatever you subtract 500 or something like that and stay within that range. double check what they say about calories
