None of that matters. Like I've said before, there is a trust problem in the black community. We don't trust our own kind to have our best interest in business unless it's some shyt like a barbershop or rib shack. Everything else black people assume that white is better.

Sadly because a lot of times that's the case. But it's cyclic. One reason black businesses struggle is lack of support. No money means lack of resources to improve, which leads to an inferior service, which people won't favor. And the cycle continues.

We need to understand, for trees to grow, seeds need to be planted. We can't build a first class grocery store in a month, but if we support it for a few years, it will eventually get on par.

We virtually have nothing right now so we need to be patient while things develop.

Anyone experienced in any form of activism understands there are always people who prefer to explain why something won't work or why something is silly as opposed to joining in or at least remaining silent. They would rather derail momentum before it begins. Odd thing is once it gets going these people generally like to be involved. They bandwagon in apathy and do it again once activism is what's popular. Best thing to do is ignore them and in the future cut them out of beginning stages. A black Friday protest hurts nothing. I don't see reasons to oppose or discouraging people from participating.

Personally I have never done black Friday so I'm thinking of other ways I can make an impact. I briefly thought of buying only black in 2015 but quickly realized it's impracticality, which is sad. I'm going to go protest today and see what other people are talking about. Preparing myself for the flood of bleeding heart cacs I will encounter

Here is what I don't get about the people that doesn't support this...

People complain about black people not having unity, that we don't support our own, but when something like this is trying to be put together it's "oh, what's that gonna do" type shyt

Guess what, its called a START

people wanna complain, but at the same time don't wanna do shyt

This can be a START of us coming together, a START of showing unity

If we could get enough people behind this, maybe we could get enough people behind boycotting the whole holiday season, saving money all together, putting our money together, establishing and supporting more black own businesses & etc

But people don't wanna even give a starting idea a chance

Muthafukkas are so selfish, delusional, and full of their own shyt these days that they'll downplay anything without seeing the bigger picture...... ITS A START

Me, personally, I'm not buying shyt this Friday or this holiday season

And if I get the urge to give anyone I care about a gift, it'll be cash

100% gold.

Man, woman, and child
I never shopped on bf as it is so this doesn't even pertain to me. Think of this tho: Say we all boycott bf when shyt is on sale but then shop on the days after that when shyt is full price therefore putting more money in the white man's pockets

Boycotts don't work if they are not organized and properly and planned out.
It seems like our generations does not understand this. It going to take more than a few days to get people behind boycotting Black Friday.

In this thread, there are some knowledgeable, down-for-the cause posters. Unfortunately, they're overshadowed by many short-sighted, materialistic n*ggas who are too obsessed with fashion and electronics.

1. This is true. Boycotts take lots of planning, conviction, and action.

2. Boycotting Black Friday shouldn't be the end-all, be-all. If anything, it should be a start.
