They made the WCF with melo if they never make it again they weren't better than with melo![]()
They were one and done every other year though. Making WCFs was not the norm with Melo. It's not like they went from consistently making WCFs to first round exits. They went from consistent first round exits to first round exits.
Beyond that keeping Melo wasn't an option. He was gonna leave the Nuggets. The fact that they were able to get pieces that allow them to continue doing the same shyt they were doing with Melo can only be seen as a plus. Last but not least the Knicks made the trade in order to be a consistent contender so in order for the trade to be beneficial for them they need to be consistently competitive. They certainly need to be consistently better than the Nuggets which they have not been since the trade was made.
