So have we just let the Spurs slide after that epic chokejob?

I havent seen any/many threads on it at all.

Just a little over a week ago it was all good. Spurs were headed towards another series sweep, maybe might drop 1 game in OKC, but the series wasnt going anymore than 5. Certainly no way the Thunder could comeb back and beat them in 4 outta 5 games.

Fast forward to now, these guys dropped 4 straight and are home watching on TV. :upsetfavre:

Two years in a row the spurs have the best record in the league.

Two years in a row choke job by the spurs. :wtf: :scusthov:

I proclaim from here on out that no one ever pays attention to the spurs ever again.

Very bad look for the Spurs. Duncan aged halfway through the series, Harden out Manuevered Manu, the D was slow on rotations, and they looked like the mentally younger team down the stretch. Extremely disappointing showing. That said, their legacy is stamped and certified. This title would've been gravy, but the loss doesn't ruin the overall meal.

They got beat by a better team AND they choked.

Parker straight up ghosted on the Spurs for a couple of games and by then OKC smelled blood in the water. OKC stepped up defensively and that's how the won the series.

Spurs already exceeded expectations by their great run, but they ran out of gas once the Thunder made the correct adjustments. It's not that they flopped, it was just that the Spurs were more of a surprise than anything to win the Finals even though we knew the playmaking was flawless and coach pop is a god.

Still, hardly anyone was calling them the favorites until the middle of the 2nd round. Also, it's not like they loss to the Clippers or Lakers. They lost to a contender which people expected to make the Finals. The series could have went either way, but it wouldn't be as bad as the Heat losing to the Celtics after going up 2-0. Heat have been the clear favorites from the East since Rose went down while the West was pretty wide open.

the overachieved this year

How did they overachieve?

The played as well as they did last season only this year they weren't devastated by injuries at the start of the playoffs.

They might come back and be just as good next season.
