This is just a straight up lie, and all you ever do is troll and spew bullshyt. I don't even know why you post on this board.

@2Quik4UHoes is my nig but he is teaching you people high level ignorance right now. He doesn't even know a thing about this act. Where were all you people when I went through all of this shyt in HL...

First and foremost, most of you hollering for single payer don't even know how a single payer system would work. That is fine, and I believe that there needs to at least be a public option as well and single-payer would probably be ideal. But even if that is what was passed, it would not be fully enacted until like 2018 at earliest. Vermont is using the option for states to create a single payer plan of their own and it won't be instituted until 2017. Vermont's case is special demographically anyhow.

The fact of the matter is, before the PPACA employers could reject people with preexisting conditions. You could not stay on your parent's program until you were 26. Medicaid (which is what most people envision----Medicaid for all) was not offered as extensively. You guys are complaining about being forced to pay for something that contributes to the overall betterment of society. Europeans pay for it out of their taxes. You pay for Social Security out of your taxes and the people on it now are getting way more than they ever put in.

Of course some people's premiums are going up---they were going to go up anyway. But the main reason it's going up is because POOR PEOPLE have been added to your pool. If you're seriously not getting subsidies and you're poor, you probably live in a red state that refused to extend medicaid (which more or less defeats the law). @beaniemac and the rest of you people complaining I'd love for you to state exactly how much you make and where you live and I can calculate on the spot how much you're paying for healthcare. Quik is encouraging straight up ignorance just because he didn't get the bill he wanted.

Ignorance I dunno, but you damn right I'm salty about not getting the PO or SP this country is stupid as fukk and I'm not ignoring the fact that the Rethugs made it difficult. But I go to Canada yearly and always come back here with a  look cuz we look like fukkin idiots. I can't tell you how many times Americans have been laughed at in conversations up there just cuz these insurance companies got the juice. I'm not even oppose to single payer taking time it obviously would have cuz we'd either need to revamp Medicaid or start some new shyt. Point is, I'm not at all opposed to paying taxes for universal health care its the whole reason why I voted for Obama I was actually paying attention to what he was sayin not just rootin for him out of black solidarity.

Look, I'll give the guy credit for trying but he fell short from what I expected and what he campaigned on. Once he sold out on the Public Option that pretty much made me not fukk with Obama like that. I'm glad Medicaid has been expanded, I'm glad people have to be covered regardless of pre-existing illness/injury, but ACA still fell short of what this country needs. Not to take him for granted cuz we'll be stuck with some wrinkly old cac after him, but dude was a let down from then onward. Drone bombing families in foreign countries and giving GOP bootstrap speeches to black people ain't make it no better.

I'm surprised this thread did numbers tho. :ehh:

Be aware, I didn't read that post until just now when I went to find the calculator I linked to box cutta. Number 2, I'm fine being a liberal. Number 3, you have multiple warnings on your account and none of them were from me until just now. You just publicly posted a warning from a moderator....which people have banned for doing before. So I'm going to respectfully ask you to delete that post and PM me if you have a complaint. The end.

So am i until my birthday, that is unless i had a full time job with benefits by then & i needed a back up plan in case that didnt happen.
Yes I think that's right correct. When you have fulltime job while still under age you can be under your parents or your employer. insurance.

He was automatically going to be a let down because of expectations. Congress let me down more than him. I worked on the campaigns of some of those blue dogs. Believe me, their cowardice hurt. There were never enough votes for the public option in the Senate. Letting the House vote was more or less a gesture of good faith and Pelosi BARELY got that majority to pass it with the public option. Don't get it twisted, that whole 2009-2010 period is why I'm not working in a Senator's office after being extended two different offers. But this is the law fam, and it's better than what we have before. This shyt doesn't even effect me yet at my age because I'm still on my pops' plan. But I'm not going to let people be uninformed. The fact is, 95% of what is in this bill (yeah, I did have to read a lot of this shyt working for my firm) is stuff that you would want to have and things that have proven positive in Europe. What the bill lacks is the cost controlling mechanism and that is the public option. So it is contingent on the young subsidizing the old. We'll get a public option by 2020 though when the districts are redrawn and Vermont's plan is up and working. NYC might even institute its own plan before that. Obama was a let down, but so was every moderate democrat. All of that "big tent" shyt was futile in the end. We just have to vote progressive and if that means some short term losses then so be it (I mean that more so in the House than the Senate though, I'm not about to give Repubs veto power).

We have to at least attempt to understand the law. My cousin felt like you and now he and his wife and kid are getting a subsidy.

Yeah, as disappointed as I was with Obama the Congress left me disgusted and just like you said it was the blue dogs that fukked it up the most imo it was a given Rethugs would be opposed either way. I'm a year too old to use my parents plan so I either gotta pay insurance companies(whom I hate) or eat the fine and for now I'ma just eat the fine. I'll see if the Medicaid extension applies to me but I have my doubts. I just don't agree with healthcare being big business whether that's the reality of the situation or not. But I don't disagree with what you say, I'm not saying Obama should've done nothing but jeez this shyt wasn't what I had in mind. It has "good job, good effort" written all over it. Him being a moderate and trying appease the other side of the aisle let me down cuz anyone with eyes could see they just wanted to sabotage everything he tried to do.

But your absolutely right, Obama's tenure has turned me into a staunch progressive. Honestly, I think progressives should just be the 3rd party to challenge the status quo cuz I can't hardly tell the difference between Dem and Rep anymore except one is center right and the other is right in the nuthouse.
