they arent comparable in scope. arabs also enslaved europeans during this period of time. i believe turks were also enslaved in the early islamic period. but the american slave trade was designed specifically to designate a bottom tier of american society on the basis of race. in fact some black slaves in arab societies had their own slaves. that was inconceivable in the americas due to the need to create a bottom tier on the basis of race.
