about as much of a waste of time as your crusade against christian hegemony. :mjpls:

and a class that fosters critical thought through a hip hop (black-based) pedagogy is a waste of time....
ok breh, got you. so lets continue to use the traditional white approved forms of learning and not think outside the box :mjpls:

...focusing on Hip-hop is such a short-sighted effort for you though :pachaha:

you talking about "white forms of learning" but probably cant swim in any serious non-social science field.

Play on dude... play on...

i'm sure you have a "book" on the way too :heh:

we teach about hip hop literacy and the social and historical constructions that fostered the birth of hip hop and how they continue on today.

and guess who is 90% of my students? :mjpls:

guess what race were the only ones to drop the course? :mjpls::usure:

more asians/ middle easterner's than blacks make up the demographics of this class. not knocking it, but damn, I'm disappointed in the black youth and their disillusionment with their own selves.

one black person. a male from jamaica.

black students always complain about a lack of classes that culturally appeal to them, outside of african-american studies, but always want a hook up on their grades when they get a black professor. :what:

:mjpls:
Fawck!!! I would love to take a class like that! Classes about black culture were my favorite classes i took

I am hiphop i dont need to learn about it in college friend :russ: Im trying to learn skills that will help me feed my family and learning about demonic music isnt on my priority list.
Okay, but why not take it and get credit for a subject you know so much on already? And where you disagree you can debate on the topics, that makes it an discussion for the class. :yeshrug:

eventually, yes i will write a book. not on hip hop though. this is merely a vehicle to gain more teaching experience so i will be more able to gain entry into history phd programs.
btw- I'm certified to teach high school math and science, and i believe those qualify as non-social science fields.
I'm focused on hip hop this semester. but more importantly I'm focusing on questioning contemporary history, looking at it from marginalized perspectives, and the empowering effects of the medium (hiphop).

trust me, I'm not pursuing a degree to teach this permanently. truth be told, i wish the class was broad enough to look at the role of music within the african american experice in america and american culture.

man fukk Napoleon....he doesn't like to think critically so he hides in the natural sciences that have no bearing on the socioeconomic condition of our people. Keep on working homie and make people really assess the effect of hip hop on our people...

Do a search for Clarence lang who is a great brother that does work on hip hop...honest research and critical thought...his articles will be of use to you...hit up the pm if you want some more stuff I got a few articles I can send your way homie!

I could PROBABLY write better than you formally anyways...so lets not go there.

Thats the funny thing.

Especially on minority issues and the black experience.

You can't do what I do...:usure:

Probably don't work in my world playboy..you can or can't. I'm not addressing your ignorance on black issues because you are laughable on here with your comments. In other words, I say you can't. But we are in two different fields so move on.

thank you for telling me what you think is appropriate for me to do. i will remember this when i eventually go before a tenure board.

"well, this internet personality named napoleon (who may or may not possess the complex), said that i should teach this course. he did not provide me any pedagogy or curriculum design, but he thought it would be cool so i am proposing it!" :camby:

if i wanted i could design this class. but i can't even get blacks to support a class rooted in black pedagogy. how many whites want to learn about contemporary black culture, let alone past black culture?
