So. Cal
I want to get a 3D TV but they say not to invest into one yet since its a new commercial technology. Basically progress will be made better then what we have now and come cheaper too. Also, can u game in 3D with all games or just a few?

Well not a lot of games have 3d as far as I know (im no expert on this...yet)...My boy been on it for awhile he says some games look better than others. He also says some games perform slower in frame rates in 3d modes.

I assume the next gen is going to have more proper use of 3D in the majority of games.

This particular TV has 2D to 3D conversion..I tried it on a few movies...doesn't give a huge effect like the made for 3d bluray but it does give it a nice pop effect.

But man...the 3d blurays look CRAZY on this model...best I've seen so far on TVs.

:salute: on the 3d movement

but

Lg though :scusthov:

Happy to be here.

Check the reviews breh....this model is one of the high rated TVs...top 3 47 incher under a thousand....THE best TV design series of 2012 and probably 2013.

Lg has the best smart TV software too..and one of the best 3d engines.

Things have changed in the TV world...some companies came up and some took shots..I've done mad research I don't spend a stack or more on uninformed purchases.

Wait till you watch NBA games, shyt looks wild. I watched the finals at my boys when the heat played the mavs and it was nuts.

i got the same TV in the 55 inch size. that's a good TV one of the best models from last year's TVs. really good levels of input lag from the TV. the only knock against it is some of those TVs have backlight bleeding and hotspots. mines has it on the very top but you only will notice it in a dim lit room when the screen goes totally black or on content that has black bars. it doesn't bother me on my set because its very minimal.

that's a thread where you can get a lot of info on that model

i've never once used the 3D on the TV though. the knock against these passive 3D sets is that they are incapable of showing true HD in 3D because they split the resolution of the TV for both eyes.

that TV is not really 240hz its a 120hz panel and they use trickery to claim 240hz. the magic remote is garbage to me. i have Logitech Harmony remotes but the concept of a Wii style remote for a TV isn't appealing to me. the universal remotes can control the TV like normal. one nice thing about the TV is if you put it on your Wifi network and your cell phone is also on it you can use your cell phone as a remote and send the Youtube videos to play on the TV. another nice thing is its DNLA compatibility. you can be on your computer and push videos (AVI, WMV) and music and pictures to your TV through the wireless. you just right click an a media file and click sent to tv.

People still have that bad image on LG which should be shed in about a year or 2. They have come up and are making some serious moves.

They bought webOS and will be putting it in their HDTVs I think starting late this year or next year.
