I remeber a little while ago watching an interview where 50 said that there really is no Mayweather promtions, it's just a name and and he basically just a golden boy fighter.

Then little by little this became apparent.

First: In the picture below he is getting paid by Golden Boy Promotions, If it was his company that was really promoting his fights wouldn't he get checks from the companies that are actually involved in the deal like CBS, Showtime, or ppv.

Second: In the article below we see that that Mayweather promotion Never even had a liscence to promote in Nevada.

"Since Mayweather left Golden Boy along with Richard Schaefer, the former CEO, Mayweather Promotions has decided to self promote their greatest boxer. The problem there is they do not possess a Nevada license"

This means that Golden Boy was the one that was really doing the promoting, for Floyd's fights and not Mayweather promotions.

What do you guys think?

Yea the reason they don't talk anymore is because Floyd is too lazy/scared to make his own promotions. 50 saw how much money he was missing out on and made the promotion for floyd but Floyd was like :whoa: when it was time to buy in.

Floyd would rather spend 3mil on that new car he has than 1mil on a real promotions company and make double the earnings each fight plus earnings off all the fighter he would promote for :snoop:

anyway...Floyd seems like a nice guy...but its clear he's not really about his business.
Everything 50 has ever said about him matches what people that I know (who have done business w/ Floyd) have said about him.

This is common knowledge to anybody who pays attention to boxing.

We knew all of this at least 3 years ago. And there's a business reason why mayweather promo is a dummy company and why he contracts GBP for their promo services.


The promo company has to provide security, judges,ref,gloves, fight insurance, ambulance, police security, etc etc etc. It a huge liability. GBP has these things in order, it makes no sensefor mayweather Promo to go thru all of that a just to promote ONE fighter.

So Floyd's business model of complete independence, and farming out the liabilities to GBP and an extremely discounted rate because GBP benefits from the association greatly. Their fighters get paid millions to fight Floyd, their fighters are on the undercard. Floyd automatically has a stable of fighters To make huge money fights with.

Anybody saying he's a glorified GB fighter doesn't know what their talking about, Floyd is the only mainstream fighter, ever that has maintained 100 % control over who he fights, and he heaven decides what his opponent earns. He has his Own deal with the PPV company, his own deal with MGM grand. His business model is ideal
