I'm very aware of it. I'm just not of the mind to accept everyone as black because they say they identify as blackAre you not aware of Afram history?
I have no problem accepting Bi-racial people as black but you are posting people with not much African ancestry.

So I just let it go because she was Afram and I am not, and I was in her turf essentially. So I just figured if the opposite were happening and she was telling me I wasn't really Angolan in Angola I'd just look at her like she's crazy for even saying it.

I can't speak on how a non-Afram, "black" would view them. They come from different color line systems in their place of birth. If they are used to the USA's color line, they wouldn't be shocked by it (those people identifying as "black") though. An Afram though, should never be shocked by these types if they know the history.

The jeter comparison is good because he looks "white" to many people and he's atleast 40-45% African and he's half white. You had just said this

Afriams are not a monolith. Every Afriam doesn't come from regions that has creoles.
Many afriams would be surprised by those people. They are not run of the mill mixed people.
Jeter has obvious African features those people do not.

No Afram aware of Afram history should be surprised by them. Anyone do even the slightest bit of research into Afram history will see a bunch of people who look like that.

"nikkas" song did rub me the wrong way, but she's a partially black chick that grew up in Oakland probably around all black people. I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

The average AA is 70-80 % African while most creole's may only have 30-40% African blood.
Also this is not the late 1800's or early 1900's people who look like that are not as numerous as they once were outside of the gulf coast. Hell I have great great grandparents who were quadroons but has changed since them.
