Got a homeboy this happened to. He's and engineer like myself but he's been at it a while longer than me. I think he's 32 or 33 and he's over 100k a year. This chick he used to mess with hit hin witg child support out the blue 4 yrs after he left her alone. Dude lawyered up quick and sge hit him with the ”we can avoid court” line. Turns out my boy wasnt the father, it was some other dude that wasnt worth shyt.

This is one thing guys have to address that women never worry about. Celebs like Lebron and DWade retain lawyers to address such accusations, they come so frequently. In some states, if the man fails to respond at all for months and months despite repeated notifications, then the child is deemed his by default.

So yeah, if you have a commonly combined first and last names (like "John Smith" in the USA), then any one of the other 20,000 John Smiths could complicate your situation really fast.

Take the time out to get your cheek swabbed for that paternity test, man.

And check your credit report frequently, too.
