Y’all love shyt like this for what reason I don’t know.

Are you doing your homework if you’re listening to 2019 rappers
I honestly don't understand your post.

A 19 year old going out of their way to listen to music that came out when they weren't alive yet is dope to me. Not everyone cares to listen to music (in any genre) that's before their time, and I think it's cool when young people do.

Are you saying it's not a big deal? Maybe it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but is it not fine for me to dap the guy up and say I think it's cool that he's making an effort to listen to more than the ton of present-day content that's shoved in his face on a daily basis in 2019 between Instagram, Youtube, Spotify, Netflix, etc?

Classic album...in my top 20

Mos coulda been a GOAT but he couldnt stay on his square in his prime(started acting)... He eventually got more and more "weird" and morphed into Yasin Bey who cant realky rap anymore

New Danger is worth a listen and Ecstatic is a great album too

He coulda been top 10 OAT...a rare 5 tool rapper(lyrics, flow, vocal tone, could sing credibly, charisma/mic presence).....could balance between street/conscious/pop lanes too

I thought his recent verse on Education was dope

:manny:

@A Tribe Called Quest ™ make sure you check out The Ecstatic. It's not as good as Black on Both Sides, but it's slept on. There's a lot of production on there from dope guys like Madlib, his brother Oh No, Dilla, and even the Neptunes are on there. It's low on guest features and has a very different sound than BOBS but it's a good album

Also I'm sure you've heard the Black Star (duo of Mos Def and Talib Kweli) album by now? It dropped about a year before BOBS.

Also this wasn't on an album but is one of his best songs

It wasnt bad but it was just ok at best and nowhere near his usual quality. He just doesnt sound confident, he always sounds kinda tired now and the verse is always super short. Same goes for his verse he gave Kids See Ghosts and on Rocky's 2nd album. He needs his mojo bacc...

I can’t believe it took this long but that’s got to be amazing to get to experience that for the first time… I wish I could Again:blessed:

Mos was on track to be one of the GOATs
That time frame...This, Like Water for Chocolate, Voodoo and Reflection Eternal all came out within a 2 year span. That was early high school for me and those cats were the primary influence (along with Nas and Wu) of my musical tastes shifting away from the Bad Boy shiny suit roster / Hot Boys collective

It was like 2013-2014 when I first listened to Mos, I was either in 8th grade or 9th idk

But his verse on “Thieves in the Night” off the Black Star album literally changed my life and my whole mindset

Black Star and Black on Both Sides are 2 of my favorites albums and Mos is easily in my Top 10,

I wish his heart was in the music more during his prime

it really ain't no general way for mos to get his mojo back breh.
he was lead astray in every avenue. by every type of person in every step of the way. The more i think about how mos got played. It is a severe tragedy. That speaks on why thing need to be changed for the good.
had this man duped his whole life. Like he was being someone. Following the someone. Then when he starts to be someone. That also is setup to completely dupe you purposefully.
real talk.

we need to pray for mos. Nobody should have to go through that.

nobody.

wake up and realize you were a prodigy of the villains.
shyt is one of the worst not talked about things in hip hop.
plus it is difficult to speak on. As it goes even deeper than the setback
to all of black American nationalism and prosperity as a model being a fraud. it goes through that and into who mos is at the core of who he is.

that is some bullshyt.
I hope none of you nikkaz get your naiveté broken.

for how it happened to mos. Is some of the most despicable shyt ever.

I’m saying this isn’t cool at all

And I don’t understand why you think it is.
