I honestly don't understand your post.

A 19 year old going out of their way to listen to music that came out when they weren't alive yet is dope to me. Not everyone cares to listen to music (in any genre) that's before their time, and I think it's cool when young people do.

Are you saying it's not a big deal? Maybe it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but is it not fine for me to dap the guy up and say I think it's cool that he's making an effort to listen to more than the ton of present-day content that's shoved in his face on a daily basis in 2019 between Instagram, Youtube, Spotify, Netflix, etc?
I love it. I thought everybody did that growing up but found out how weird it was when talking about old music with friends. They'd look at me crazy for big uppin an old Kane album. Hitting those discount used CD stores was like going to disneyworld when I was young. I got some younger friends now that have literally never listened to anything old from the time they got into hip-hop. Just whatever the newest stuff is from artists they like.

Welcome, breh :blessed:

Make sure you catch Travellin' Man while you're at it...Mos straight up gifted DJ Honda one of his GOAT tracks :wow:

Enjoy the ride :blessed:

I’m saying this isn’t cool at all

And I don’t understand why you think it is.
:ohhh: I think maybe I just need to be more grumpy and closed minded?

I find it weird that this is always applauded by hip hop heads

It’s full bias and BS

I find it weird that anyone would ever discourage younger generations from checking out older music. No one is saying they have to like it or they have trash taste if they don't.

Forget hip-hop. How is it bias or BS in any genre for older generations to enjoy younger generations not only giving their era's music a shot but appreciating it?

If they want to only listen to their current generation's music that's fine too. But why would anyone think it's wack to be curious in checking up on how your favorite genre has changed, evolved, and who the pioneers were, etc?

It sounds like you're just going out of your way to be negative.

U bugging

Nothing uncool about going back and revisiting classic media whether it’s albums, movies, books, art whatever
I’m not discouraging

I just find it funny how people celebrate it

The same thing is going on in that Cordae top 5 thread
