I thought like this for the longest... but OP needs to look up, and make his own fate. I just turned 35, Got a decent job, pays well and I got no kids.

But I'm writing a E-book right now, I was published back in the day, got screwed over contract wise but I just started coming up with all these ideas and started writing again last year. Microsoft word costs money now, So I use google docs, I can't afford to create or design my own book, So I got word about a site called Fiverr.com, I'm halfway through with my book and I haven't given up. I've been suffering financially for so long but everyday I crawl out of that pit and now I'm gonna get a reprieve because my car is paid off and my money will start stacking finally was 2 years financially in a rut. and just seeing the light now.

I have much plans for my book, I'm talking T-shirts, TV commercials, Bobbleheads, a website, Merchandise... Maybe a netflix series?!!? :ld:

I know the road is gonna be rough but everyday I make a step forward doing something I love, something I believe in...

You should believe in yourself and grind to get what you want...

You want a new job, go and get it, google about it, You want to find a woman, go out to the clubs, go on the streets, be proactive...

You must believe in yourself, it WILL payoff...:jawalrus:

Dont give up... :youngsabo:

I hope what I said helps...:yeshrug:

Why not go back to school? Seeing as though you don't have the responsibilities of children and a significant other, you have the time to go back and further your education. You put the right things together financially through your education, everything else can follow. Check with your job, see if they have a tuition reimbursement program. More folks need to take advantage of that. Free education? Why not. I'm getting my PMP certification through my job right now.

Dude is 41, has sickel cell anemia and drinks every night. I don't know why y'all keep suggesting jobs that include driving and shyt without benefits.

I like the idea of working at a Costco full time, getting benefits, achieving stability in health and mind, finishing your classes for a degree that allows you to move into a career.

If not netflix with the right funding I'll put that shyt on Hulu or maybe even adult swim... shyt I'll go straight to DVD eat off the sales alone if I can generate a rabid fanbase with a big enough buzz...

Wht the fukk have you done lately??? :heh::ufdup: Except never finish everything you started.

Lazy fukk...:bryan:

I saw something on here similarly about a year ago and it had a great suggestion. I'll paraphrase:

If you are thinking of killing yourself, you might as well just run yourself into the ground hustling toward a "goal"..if it's your body, just run yourself into the ground at the gym for hours and hours...run until you can only walk and then walk until you can only crawl... "kill yourself" to get the best body and you'll see results

Likewise with money, apply for a second/third job...flip burgers, work a night gig...get rid of all distractions and just work yourself to either death or some extra money.

It beats just "giving up" :yeshrug:
This one of the best pieces of advice I've ever heard for someone wanting to commit that :ohhh:

Instead of focusing on money, focus on finding something that will make you happy. Something that will make worth life living.

Getting a +100K job at your age with no education will be tough, but in reality you don't need that much money.

Like people said, get a CDL/second job and grind for a while. Save some money and take some time to travel.

Don't give up quite yet fam. Hard work will get you places. Nobody expects you to do anything considering your situation. Use that as motivation.

u 41 so u don't have time to post on here...u don't have the luxury of time anymore and I see u still posting today ...so first thing u need to do is

1. Stop posting on the coli and any other website, I'm sure u been a time waster your whole life...stop wasting time

2. Find someone who was in your situation (40, broke, weak skill set, etc).....and do what he did to improve his life...again u don't have time to waste so taking work related/financial advice from people who weren't 40 and broke with no education is not the best route...u need an example that you can follow step by step....personally I think going to college would be a waste of time...I'd learn a trade or skill in 2 years or less that makes decent income and keep it pushing...hopefully u don't live in an expensive city

it's all up to you tho...if u really want to improve your life and get shyt done you will.....

Posting is a problem even though I don't lurk as much anymore and that's good I'm cutting down.

I'll answer a few questions other posters have asked.

1. I didn't go to Everest but my boy did, but I went to a similar for profit school called Keiser College, same shyt, shyt education. I tried going back to school 3 times but I fail math badly, I passed other classes, obviously the speaking class was hard for me due to a real speech problem that's been getting better with age but still is there. I passed english ad reading but math and speech are harder to pass, obviously at 41 schooling and starting from the bottom is gonna be hard and I'm already old and broke. I make a little over 32k a year which is shyt, a issue is the job is a 90 commute each way and I have a shyt resume, no real skills, I got this job from a friend who knows my unlce. I don't like to show my face I'm quite ashamed of shyt, I don't lie to go out much around old friends I know, feel kinda shytty so I just don't deal with them. It's not only me, alot of us come from the same background, no dads, just nikkas in the street, we just never grew passed that, realized women grew passed that and then you have a issue, little value to them.

I wanna quit this damn job and do something else, the job offers I never got and still haven't gotten back one call.

anyways, I'm quitting and looking into a short trade, if I can make 50k I'll consider that a success.

The friends around me are the same, so that makes no sense to talk to them cats, they don't care much.

you can't do anything physical with sickle cell, I will get sick cutting the lawn in the sun....

1. Gonna get a trade, something under 2 years,
2. Gonna do some warehouse or something light like driving a car till I finish,

Expect to be in a good situation at about 45.
