So I'm playing through FFX for the first time

I beat em all and X is in the middle to me...partially because Tidus sucks ass.

And if you can get Khimari into Tidus's grid asap it will take care of how slow he is. But my main squad on my first play through was Tidus, Auron and Yuna. Switching to Khimari and Lulu when needed....Wakka is a scrub never use him.

This game had its flaws sure. But this was the last good Final Fantasy game enjoy breh Check out FF 4.....6 through 9 and then 5 after you beat this one

Got that HD Remaster, this is my first Final Fantasy game (we're not counting the FF14 Beta ) I'm about 5 hours in and it's pretty interesting story wise. The hero Tidus seems wild mango tropical, the voice acting is pretty cheesy, LuLu is a freaking b*tch (she's hot though)
I have some questions though I bought some new weapons for my crew but there doesn't seem to be a way to directly compare to see which weapon is better.
How are you supposed to level up your characters evenly, always swap em in and out?
How do you know what to do for Overdrives? I was using the blue cat dude (Kimhi) and did my over drive and had no clue how to make it max out damage, so I ended up doing like 100 damage.....

Quick tip. Before any boss fight. Since save points heal you, run around and get into battles, get all your squad into overdrive. So when you fight the boss, just unleash the fury.

Spoiler: The plot explained

Zanarkand lost a war and would have been taken over. Yu Yevon used the remaining citizens to create a dream Zanarkand to preserve his city in it's greatest state. Sin was made as the the protector of it. They lost the war because they were technologically inferior thus Yu Yevon used Sin and religion to keep the world's technology as a state to where it would never be a threat to the immortal city of dreams he created.

Dream Zanarkand was a real place. It was basically created using the magic of people called the fayth asleep in the mountains which is why it was called Dream Zanarkand because their dreaming made it real. The people on the outside world couldn't enter Dream Zanarkand through normal means and the people inside couldn't get out. Auron died but was never sent and his spirit crossed over to Dream Zanarkand. The fayth got tired of sustaining Dream Zanarkand that's one of the major plot points of the game. Think of it along the lines of the humans in the Matrix in their dream city sustaining the machines in the real world.

Some would also say that FFXII was the last one, but I agree with this. Couldn't get into 12 and I've tried for years. That's why I place X as my current favorite. Used to be VIII.

Same here, I tried getting into 12... but it's battle system seemed lame to me.

when the Fayth stop dreaming Dream Zanarkand ceases to exist. I never played X-2 so I don't know how but Tidus was able to continue existing despite that.

I remember playing the PS2 version back in the day and thought it was a worthy FF game.

I prefer the darker protagonists (IV, VII, VIII) of before so Tidus got on my nerves but Auron made up for it.'

Especially when you found out the truth at the end.
