Vol 1 came out in Nov 97 so let’s assume Pac was already gone. Biggie & Nas were already rap superstars having established themselves critically, commercially & in the streets…

Which leaves Jay. Still a relative new comer climbing up the hill

The question is which do you think hearing “Where I’m From” would have the best case to be in that third spot instead of Jay?

Cube had classics under his belt & WSC just having come out in 96. He had the name, pedigree & was still a hitmaker. Nobody was saying “ill ice cube turn that shyt off”

Jay was sticking with a New York theme so I did as well.

Was LL in 97 on the level skill wise of Prodigy, AZ, and Chef? He had the charts and hits with Mr Smith and Phenomenon dropped in that year too so i’m just asking questions
