So any black person that can recognize the fact that Tidal is a late-comer to a
crowded marketplace that already has multiple established brand names, competitors with significantly more capital, and some of which also design the actual operating system that the respective apps are found on (Apple, Google, Samsung) and thus are able to preload their app on said device, is c00nin'?

Alright my G.
The only major advantage that Tidal can use as a selling point is sound quality, which isn't that significant of a consumer demand in this marketplace. Every other selling point they have (exclusive content, streaming events, original shows, new releases first) can be found by the competition. And the app itself has glaring bugs and design flaws.
And if you wanna use the whole "a black man started this" defense, keep in mind that Apple Music is essential nothing more than a rebranded version Beats Music, which was created by Dr. Dre. He got in the stream game before the big boys did, built his service up, then was in position to sell it off to Apple at the right time. All while keeping some creative control of the service, and passing Jay's net worth in the process. That's a black man making a DOPE business move.
Now don't get it twisted, starting Tidal was a good business move by Jay, but his best option is to do the same thing that Dre did. Build Tidal up for another year or two, then sell off to a major company. And that's actually what I think Jay is trying to do. I think he'll eventually sell Tidal off to Samsung, since he already has a strong business relationship with them, and their streaming service is lagging behind in the marketplace. If that happens, it'll sell for FAR less than Beats sold to Apple, but since Jay owns a larger stake in Tidal than Dre did in Beats, he could actually make as much, or even MORE than Dre did. Jay could potentially become a billionaire off of Tidal. He's making a good move. But he can't go head to head with Apple and Spotify long term (7-10 years) and top them. He doesn't have the resources, and profits in this industry are slow. And honestly, I think Jay knows this.
BUT, as a consumer, I'm rolling with the best product. And Apple Music and Spotify are clearly the best going currently. I'm not using an inferior product to support a rapper that's gotten over a thousand dollars of my money through album, concer and, Roc-a-Wear (long time ago

) sales over the years. Y'all can keep supporting subpar shyt, or collecting your Guerrilla Marketing Coordinator paycheck, whatever it is you're doing. I'm gonna mess with the best. Best of luck to Jay tho.
