Surprised there hasn't been alot of talk on here about this... it's a pretty hot subject right now. He seems to be feeding into the idea of making the jump. Maybe it's a bargaining tool for NJPW, or him working an angle to surprise us later... but with Mania Season around the corner and after last year, You never really know.

If you haven't been keeping up... he went on "hiatus" after WK11 to "think things over".

Now me personally I think it's a work. I think he's playing off the whole AJ leaving last year thing and teasing the NJPW audience, so that when he returns it builds his credibility as REALLY wanting that title. It's kinda sorta obvious BUT...

Then I watched his interview on the Taz Podcast and i was like :patrice: "ehhhhhhhh I dunno"

Apparently he's 100% a free agent (or so he says). That's intriguing....

Then bytch ass Triple H issues a statement like this... but Trips is amazing at telling you everything and nothing at once.

"As far as a Kenny Omega goes, I'm just interested in talent, period," Levesque told ESPN on a call to promote WWE's United Kingdom Championship tournament, which airs live on the WWE Network at 8 p.m. BST, Saturday and Sunday. "If somebody is talented as a performer and they wanna come work for the WWE, if they wanna come to the largest platform in the world where they can truly show what they do off on a global basis, then WWE is the choice for them. If they wanna come work for us and they're very talented, then I'm interested in talking to them, and that's across the board.

"To me, anytime anybody questions me on a talent -- Am I interested in them? -- the fact that you're questioning me on them means that person is probably pretty talented, so, yes, I'm interested."

basically the equivalent of :youngsabo:

It's all eerily similar to when AJ made the jump last year...

Seems like Cena be knowin'

:hubie: Just saying...

WWE also had a video on their site mentioning Omega as a surprise entrant to The Rumble that got took down for some reason. Mentioned by Seth Rollins... maybe they didnt want to tease something they couldnt deliver, or maybe they didnt want to ruin the surprise...:youngsabo:

It's atleast worth a post and some speculation. :groceries:

Let's just say Kenny is coming to WWE... which after last year's NJPW purge I think is very possible.

HOW WOULD YOU BOOK IT?

He won't be coming for Wrestlemania season I think that's almost a guarantee, because apparently his contract expires the 31st which is 2 days after the Rumble, and also Omega doesn't have the name recognition like AJ so its hard to say if he'll draw interest like that off the bat

I personally think he should spend some time down in NXT because he needs just a little bit of polishing with the talking. Even though Omega's a great and charismatic talker, WWE style promos are a different game, and when you're given a script and consistently talking in front of 20,000 in arenas, with a lot of agendas being forced on you, I imagine its not the same as those post-match NJPW promos

Hell nah look at AJ, he just debuted on main roster and look at the year he's had. And as for mic skills, people were saying that was AJ's weakest element and he's shone of the mic this year in both face and heel.

Omega to NXT :mjlol:

1. I just said Omega is a good talker, but NJPW promos are different from WWE ones. AJ had TNA experience which is one of the only reasons he went straight to the main roster and didn't do NXT. He knew how to work TV, PPV's, do backstage segments, in-ring segments, how to carry himself in long 20-minute back and forth promos, what to do with a live mic in front of an American audience that understands every word you're saying, etc etc etc. There's too far a disconnect between NJPW style production and WWE/TNA style production.
2. Like I said, Omega is not the level of star as AJ. AJ performed on national TV for years and is a name known to a lot of people who don't necessarily pay attention to Puro or Indies. Omega doesn't have that same luxury
3. You write "Omega to NXT :mjlol:" as if guys like Shinsuke, Joe, Roode, and Aries aren't down there as well, all guys with decades of experience, 3 of whom did TNA for years, and are all renowned worldwide. Omega to NXT would not only be beneficial to him, but also to WWE, who need to figure out the marketing, booking, and writing for him. Omega doesn't have cool gloves or a red jacket or some catchy nickname he can attach to his branding and subsequently his merchandising yet. You also don't know whether it'd be best to debut him as a face or heel. Omega's a potential future main event star on the level of AJ, it would be prudent to take precaution and not fukk that up or limit his ceiling

I think he's staying. Once NJ saw AJ and Shinsuke bounce they signed a bunch of their dudes to long term deals. Then they put Omega over in the G1, and put him in the main event of their biggest PPV. They'd be idiots to do all of that for a gaijin if they didn't have him in at least a wink+handshake deal for the foreseeable future.

Right now he's basically the hottest name in the game so it's in his and NJ's best interest to milk this spotlight for as long as possible.

Omega right now is the hottest wrestler in the world. Just headlined the Tokyo dome, I'm not a big NJPw person but someone like that skips NXT.

That's like if they would have sent Jericho to OVW when he came from WCW. nikka had "it" already.

All things considered Age, Look, Style, Cultural Understanding, Indy Cred, Mic Work, Ring Work, Omega is your guy. RIGHT NOW... he has it like not many people do anymore and he KNOWS he does.

Crowd doesn't have to know him, they can do that weird thing called...

Actually building someone in a credible way that makes them get over.
