spoken like a cac

It obvious the song is based on the original dance

The "Now do the Harlem Shake" line was sampled from

Dude said he sampled the line because his friend played it for him and that line got stuck in his head.

The song also samples the lyrics con los terroristas.

The Ummah!
My beef is why do white people always find a historically black art or piece of art and like to parody it, why can't they parody white art? Oh wait, that's right because that would be tasteless smh.

I swear some of these people need a revolution, a movement,, a war, or something to pop off so they can stop bullshytting about these fake causes I can't even be mad at em because a lot of these people are legitimately serious about these non-issues but they need to come off this shyt and chill. COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMETHING WITH SIGNIFICANCE instead of this fukk shyt. Who gives a damn

The only thing they're parodying is the video of 4 guys.

First came

Then came which parodying the first video. This video is considered the original of the meme, since it has one guy dancing with some type of helmet, then everyone else after the beat drops, slow motion, 31 seconds.

This is what the videos are parodying, no one is actually doing the harlem shake dance, they're doing their own version of the second video, which is people doing random shyt when the beat drops. The second video was from 5 guys in Australia, I doubt they knew about he Harlem Shake dance.

Someone made a video dancing goofily (probably not a word, but i just made it one) to a song called "Harlem Shake".. people copied it, it became a meme. No one was like "Let's create a new dance and name it after an already popular dance to piss off black people and disgrace their culture"

I don't blame people from Harlem being mad about it, because this craze kind of misinforms people to what the Harlem Shake is and puts the real shake in the background, but after a little bit of research anybody who's somewhat competent would be able to figure out that this video meme is only called Harlem Shake because of the song playing during the video and this whole "What is the Harlem Shake and what isn't" mixup is pure coincidence

man fukk this

the Harlem Shake is not the dance its the meme

another Black person getting offended over nothing

at first, i was about to agree with you.
BUT, this is once again the WHITE man trying to tell the world what black culture is. you can call it a joke all you want. if it goes on long enough. the next generation wont know the difference. its the same thing that is happening with music.

R&B is now POP electronica music
HipHOp is now Pop/Southern Strip Club/ Electronica music ONLY.

now we that are grown enough to remember know what R&B sounds like, and its not POP electronica. we know what HIPHOP sounds like all over the US and the world. and all of it is not POP/SOUTHERN strip club/electronica music.

but if you keep telling people the wrong thing. eventually the wrong definition will catch on. and it will change from being a joke, a fad, to a fact and reality.

last but not least, that new fake harlem shake, is really derived from racism. sure it is. even if some of you dont know it. its white people laughing at the monkeys in the cage. "look at em do their little dance thing. lol. they move like this, look, look. haa haaaa... look at me doing the move...haaa haaaaaa."

thats why they are intentionally not trying to do the PROPER/CORRECT/REAL harlem shake. there's a reason they call it something it isnt. they are trying to clown black folks.

we see thru you. those of us that dont. time to wake up. yes in 2012 its still racial. what a shame.

most people wont do a little bit of research. thats the problem. most people take what they get from the net as gospel. until the net corrects itself and tells that same person "sorry, that wasnt true". thats why the people from harlem speaking on it in a video on the net, melissa talking about it on tv and it going on the net. is a necessity. without them youngins would be completely misinformed. it doesnt matter what the ORIGINAL reason was for the first or 2nd video. they should've changed the name of the meme.
