So it's safe to say Jordan Peele is a one hit wonder right?

Pretty crazy how folks can't state their opinion without it being thought of as "wishing the downfall of other Black people".

But OP didn’t actually state his opinion. He said he’s a one hit wonder and made an emoji as a critique to the film.

Peele one of the only mainstream black directors out there and dudes can’t even write up a couple sentences on at least WHY they didn’t like the film :mjlol: fukking dweebs.

fukk all that noise! US is creepy as fukk. Definitely holds up on rewatches. Just went to an AMC Chills & Thrills rewind, and they played US to a sold out crowd. I honestly think people are uncomfortable with new ideas. You can count the number of doppelganger movies on one hand, and that one was the most successful.

I think Nope is a great contribution to the aliens on our turf genre, especially because of the horror twist. It wasn't perfect, but definitely not a failure. But different strokes for different folks.

Dudes be so ready to shyt on black directors, black movies and black actors....we dont see this type of hate for directors like damien chazelle, darren aronofsky or steven spielberg who been putting out bad work recently....its always a thread shytting on a black person trying to do their thing in hollywood...shyt is disgusting.

I don’t care how he viewed negative wise

At least the brother making movies that’s not the same gang related, ex con leaves prison to clean his life but fall back into the game, bad black relationships or a single mom struggling with addiction looking for love, etc

I’m going to check it out tomorrow

He has a classic with Get Out and a strong project with Us.
I didn’t have any interest in Candy Man or Twilight Zone.
I put him in the lane of M Knight Shyamalan how ever you spell it. A few more projects under his belt and he’ll be cemented in his niche.
I love the way his movies are shot.
There are some missteps in Us that I wish would have been tightened up, mainly with the ending, but it doesn’t put him in one hit wonder status to me.

Candyman had some interesting ideas. And the visuals were dope. But it felt like it needed to try and tie into the original movie. And it also was not scary at all. And did t have that insidious power of the original movie
I might revisit it, but breh...the extra gay shyt right at the beginning turned me and my wife off.

We just moved on to something else that night :snoop:
