I heard gentrification is legit destroying the black population in SF. Like literally, neighborhoods that were majority black and hispanic are now over 70% white. Is this true?

What;s going on? I had heads say they love the bay, but compared to here in NYC you're paying out the ass for less to do than here.

I dont understand why either. I be looking at those milli houses like really? :dahell:

This house is worth a million and is just a couple houses away from mine. Keep in mind that this is in the flatlands, just a block removed from San Pablo Ave, which is a major thoroughfare between Oakland and Richmond.

I'm originally from Lakeview and the only folks from back in the 80's and 90's who still live there are independent hustling on another level. Paypa Boy opened up Dream Team clothing on Broad Street a few years ago. He definitely getting his money. Cellski started Chemical Baby clothing a few years ago too and making scrill off of that plus he own a few deli spots plus he still put out music and do shows. Literally, everyone else moved out the way. Lakeview is mostly Asians now but the View was majority black when I was growing up there in the 80's and 90's. The only black folks really left in the city stay in projects. And the city has been knocking down hella jects in the past five or so years especially in HP.

Exactly, either you're balling, or living off subsidies and rent control these days. I got family with a lot of history in the sco but we don't see them much anymore because the traffic has increased tenfold over these last two or three years. Just getting across the bridge takes about 45 minutes vs the 15-20 it took just a couple years ago. That's another thing, not only is the landscape getting pinker, there has been an incredible rate of population growth out here that our infrastructure can't accommodate. These fukkers are like a bunch of god damned locusts. Unfortunately, even if the housing bubble pops, housing will never be drop to anywhere close to what will be affordable again, and I doubt many people that have settled here will ever want to leave either now that they've experienced our weather and landscape.

almost everyone I know that lives in actual SF lives with their family. Regardless if theyre 21 or 30. Know a few in Daly City that live in small ass sections of a house on their own and theyre nurses (the home owner sold the bottom part of their house) clearing 100k a year.

Living on the outskirts of san jose or sf is how most people survive. Sf is only 10% of the bay population. Antioch, pittsburgh, vallejo, fairfield, hercules, pinole, even hayward etc is where people are moving to find cheaper rent. Still expensive compared to the rest of the nation but way lower than sf or sj

I dont wish commuting in the bay at 8 am or 5 pm on anyone

Houses in Lakeview selling for a mil and up too. :whoo:

283 Farallones St, San Francisco, CA 94112 | Zillow

How the fukk a house on that street with bars on the bottom floor windows selling for a mil? :what: The police wouldn't even reopen the police substation of Broad Street literally a couple years ago unless the whole thing was encased in bulletproof glass and houses down the street really going for a million?

OMI neighbors, Inner City Youth call for reopening 103 Broad St.

I used to live on Ramsell up the hill from Randolph and bullets used to come through the windows sometimes back in the late 80's and early 90's. Now houses on the Dolph selling for seven figures. :what: But when I lived there it was like growing up on the same block as Tre, Ricky and Doughboy. :blessed: Sometimes I wish I had a time machine to go back that era when J's wasn't retros. :mjcry: But Lakeview was too grimey back then. These new residents in the View have now idea about the history of where they stay. :snoop:

Real talk. I work in a lot of these gentry's houses in Oakland now and I'll walk in and they'll be in some stage of remodeling, and I'll peek in the back yard and it'll be overgrown with a broken fence and hella junk sitting back there and I'll start getting kind of misty eyed for the good old days.

Yup . That backyard with the grass like a foot high. :mjcry: No one in my family ever even stepped foot in that backyard, ever. I used to have dreams of climbing the back wall of that house as a kid. But then again Lakeview was pretty fukking dangerous back in the day. :whoa: It's crazy with gentrification in the Bay, it's like you can't even tell places that were the hood a few years ago were ever the hood at all. :why: I remember riding the number 5 Fulton bus through Fillmoe a few years ago and hearing an old crazy black lady yell at the Indian bus driver about being "scared to drive through a black neighborhood" and I'm looking around at the streets from the bus and seeing nothing but white folks. :merchant:

This is a lie...no one in Richmond has ever said that. It's amazing how you can just spout bullshyt

Bullshyt, but like I said, I already gave you the challenge and I bet you couldn't do it. Record uncut unedited footage asking that question and I bet you will have plenty of people say what I said. While your at it tape this magical one out of 4 black ratio that you and I both know doesn't exist.

I don't need to do this, I'm from here, no one in my life from Richmond has ever not claimed the bay...

It's true, san Quentin sits right on the water in Marin, they have been trying for years to find a way to move a fukking prison to get that land back.
