Jamaicans do not calorie count or think our food is unhealthy. I think this is guy doing a good job of breaking down the calories in our food because we only think of processed food as being unhealthy, but our food can be drowned in oil and fat heavy with fatty meats and added fats like coconut milk. Frigging delicious though. But the calorie count is high when you’re eating stew chicken and hard food for breakfast with a side of banana porridge, KFC for lunch and curry goat and rice and peas for dinner.

Now with all that being said the Jamaican in me is like

It’s also the whole finish your plate culture. It was way into when I was an adult that portion control became a thing for me. Parents fill up your plate and give you adult portions as a child.

Whether it's McDonalds, Pappa Johns, Jamaican Food ect. There's nothing wrong with eating unhealthy food once in a blue. It's only an issue if you eat it on a constant basis. I've heard Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Rock and Terry Crews all talk about having cheat days and they are just 3 examples of the most physically fit men in entertainment.
