The team is better than it was last year. Harden isn't except for assist which can be attributed to the the teammates being better

The Spurs are good every year tho. If Kawhi didn't play they'd still somehow pull wins off (not as much tho)

If Harden got hurt the Rockets might as well cancel their season

Harden will most likely finish 3rd. If the season ended today Westbrook would win it but hes been the favorite to win it all year so I think the public is fatigued from hearing about him especially with the recent 58 point loss. Im not saying its fair but I think the wow factor for Westbrook peaked too soon which is why Kawhi is gonna end up winning MVP even though it was a 2 man race between Harden and Russ all year.

That's not the only reason, people chuckled when Harden made the switch to point guard, yet he's at worst the 3rd best PG guard in the league. If the Thunder had a better record though Russell would win it. But Harden leads the league in win shares.
