Can't fire McDermott yet, in 5 years he's only missed the playoffs once, has a .605 win percentage (which is 10.3 wins/year), has won the division twice, has a 3-4 playoff record, and has taken you to the AFC title game once...
Before McDermott, Buffalo:
•hadn't been in the playoffs in 18 years
•had a .412 win percentage during that playoff drought (6.6 wins/year)
•only even finished second in the division twice during the playoff drought
Don't forget where yall came from. There could be a time to fire him, but that time isn't now. You have no guarantee anyone coming in yet is as good as him...
Yall kick that last kickoff in regulation deep but short of the 5 to make it returnable, you make them have to return it and burn time off the clock. No one is downing it or fair catching it at the 5, and if they do Pat having 13 seconds from the 5 is different than having 13 seconds at the 25. Ultimately that kick sealed yall fate...
Also, if Allen plays like he did Sunday on a consistent basis you're not losing by 4 touchdowns to Indy or anyone ever, you aren't putting up only 6 points vs a team that only wins three games, etc. For as well as Allen played the other night, and it was a legacy performance, it was All-Time shyt, consistency is part of his problem. He showed that his ceiling is maybe a step behind Mahomes at best, because that game was also the best Mahomes has played, but Mahomes has played near that level consistently for 4 years.
Allen didn't play near that level consistently this season to even say he deserves to be considered Mahomes' biggest challenger. We'll see how Burrow is on Sunday in the same environment vs the same team, but even if Burrow loses, he's further ahead in his development thru Y2 than Allen was in Y2...
McDermott kicks that last kickoff differently yall win the game, Allen plays to his potential every week you're not even playing KC on the road in a divisional game. At some point he's gonna have to win that game on the road, we all know it---->and at some point Mahomes gonna have to validate his stature on the road too. We've seen him at neutral sites twice (both Super Bowls), and besides the 4thQ of the one they won, Mahomes played mediocre...
The gap between Mahomes and the other great QBs isn't as large as assumed and isn't much from Allen at all, if Allen plays every week like he did Sunday...
