Interesting. Just like in present day, you still got some black people from different places acting like black people from the South is "culturally different".

I'm glad to be from the South. I wouldn't change it.
The southern impact on LA is huge..

Why you think they stay catching fades? Like country brehs LA brehs love fighting:pachaha:

I Think even today most can trace there roots back to the south...they started arriving like 1930s and 40s en masse

I think a large amount of ADOS in southern California have roots from Mississippi.

But there are folks that criticizes Blacks vs nikkas joke.
Right. You can tell these Twitter nikkas never read a book in their life. This was in Thomas Sowell's book "Black Rednecks and White Liberals". That part was about the cultural differences and values between black southerners and black people not in the south. Blacks adopted the degenerate cracker culture of poor whites in the south. Now that culture is synonymous with black people. Those black folks in LA were 100% correct.

No different than white northerners being pissed if a bunch of Appalachian whites moved into their area and bought their ignorance and fukk shyt with them.

Yeah, the history behind this is interesting. Black folks who left the south early on were not happy about the Great Migration/mass exodus of southern sharecroppers coming to their cities, be it LA, San Fran, NY, CHI, etc. They saw them as culturally different and a bad representation. And to be fair, they were less educated and less acculturated. So this was more of a class thing than self-hate/wanting to be white. And low-key, they weren't wrong. The mass influx made white folks panic and create ghettos to control the black population, and middle class black folks got lumped in.
Now this is a well learned person right here.

The saddest part is that those negroes equated poor and uneducated with being Negro. And because they had some semblance of wealth, they were not Negro but American. But them not realizing that although being economically secure, they were still tokens. Tolerable. And they had no infrastructure to help those Southern negroes (as they call them) get to the same heights that they enjoyed.

Basically they playin Highlander with Black economics. There can only be some.

I think some Black people take on an alter ego or persona to fuel their success. I have a homie like this too, he was heavy on that pro-Black steez in college but once he graduated, started making money, read some self help get rich books --- total 180. He voted for Trump in 2016 lol. But he ain't completely went off the rails, he still knows he's a brotha and mainly dates Black women. He just had to take on characteristics to get him focused on the goals he wanted to accomplish in Amerikkka. I understand that some Black people see it as their only way to succeed and defeat all the racism and discrimination we deal with going after the bag. I couldn't do it tho.
Your friend just became an adult, more pragmatic, and realized how the real world works.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
@ThrobbingHood to answer your question about Italians I’m not sure how many different eras of migration they had in nyc or the states.

I always figured Italians came to the county in one large period of time which is probably why they do not have this issue. Them and the Irish all got treated bad all together and climbed the ladder all together.

Could be wrong tho not sure

My parents went through this with uppity nikkas when they got to Los Angeles from the south as well as many of blacks from Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas who came to Los Angeles in those 60s and 70s

My mom was like she was treated better from whites here in Los Angeles than the uppity negros at the time..

Them nikkas was like that black chick with mr candy in Django, thinking they was better..

It still happens today all over in America and I can tell from a few black co workers in higher positions and how they interact with blacks in lower positions

The white Mexicans born in Los Angeles are really harsh on other Mexicans it’s crazy out here as well.. I just be laughing hearing other Mexicans calling poor Mexicans illegal immigrants

That makes more sense. But just like everyone else, Neapolitan Italians will tell you quick they’re not Sicilians. The whole “Guinea” insult was basically referring to the country, calling them n*ggers.

But you’re right, because they all migrated together, there wasn’t a buffer class before them.

The Sopranos was interesting because it showed me how Italians are still not considered “WASPs” and despite Tony’s wealth, he could never truly assimilate amongst old money because of his ethnicity and background.

That show was eye opening. Remember when his therapist lady was having dinner and they were looking down on other Italians?

I hate nikkas like this. They’re fukking sickening. This was during a time when a poor group of crackers who couldn’t even read, could walk into that room and violate every educated, cultured man’s wife in there without real fear of repercussion and these cats worried about other black people. These people grandparents were in literal bondage :gucci: one of my favorite quotes is “where ever you go, there you are”.we cannot run from who are what we are in this nation. The one time in history we truly embraced our blackness it shook the American power structure to its core and they infiltrated it and destroyed our leaders.

My same feelings.
