The problem is there superstar isnt young . There's no telling when they get a player as talented as dirk again they wont be bad enough for a high lottery pick with dirk Cuban also had no plan b . Not to mention off a lockout session they might be able to repeat especially since Cuban says he felt he had the best team when they won the title.

Now it's either blow it up completely or be mediocre and hope for Dwight :scusthov: much easier to reload I figure

That's the thing it isn't easy to reload a championship team. That's actually the hardest thing to do in the NBA. Only two ways to truly reload is to suck and get lucky in the draft, make a huge trade, make a huge FA signing. Cuban tried to do the last two and it didn't work out. He'll likely have his chance at the first option soon enough.

Mavs got nothing to trade except Dirk, their roster is :flabbynsick:

I said he already tried for the big trade with Odom. There only option now is loading up on lesser FA (not necessarily a championship formula) or sucking for a year and hoping they can get a stud in next years draft. There is still an outside chance of swinging a trade for Dwight. Dirk and Dwight with cap room would put them right back in it.

Didn't read the whole thread but this is EXACTLY why I hate it when these owners go on these gambles "for the future" I mean you just won the championship and you decide to blow it up to MAYBE sign two unproven FAs the following year?

i live in dallas. been a mav fan my whole life. but why would anyone want to fukking come here to play? i knew it was BS when they said "we gon get howard and williams"

we have never signed a big free agent in the off season. i don't blame d-will one bit for going to brooklyn. d-will can live here in the off season nikkas

remembers when the Texas triangle use to be hell for teams :to:[/Q

People don't understand, Texans love BBall too. :sadbron:

Cuban was suffering from delusions of grandeur. He really thought that free agents would come there because they just came off a championship last season and because he is the owner :childplease:

Dallas can't offer Deron 5 years, 100 million. At this point they lost...

JJ Barea
J Kidd
JET
Chandler

The question is...is it time to move Dirk for pieces?

Dirk
Carter
Marion

Aaron Brooks is a free agent. They need to go after the kid. OJ Mayo is as well. Maybe pick up Oden for a one year deal and see how he pans out. Maybe go ofter Camby too.

Camby/Oden
Dirk/?
Marion/Rodrique B.
Mayo/Carter
Brooks/?

At least with this team they remain competitive and have a young backcourt to work with as Dirk fades.
