Miami whooped everybody back in 06. How'd they look 2 years later? :scusthov:

It was a calculated risk. They could have come back this year and won a title but it's unlikely. With older teams the bottom drops out fast. There's no way they have the same hunger this year that they had last year and that hunger for a ring is what got them over the hump against more talented teams. Cuban didn't wanna be stuck in no mans land with a bunch of satisfied old guys. It's better to be bad with cap room than to be mediocre with no cap room and limited options.

Who r these old guys u keep speaking about?
Chandler barrea butler and stevenson are all young
They let dem walk and den signed vince carter who is 35 years old and sucks to a three year deal:merchant:

Dallas been complaining all summer bout not gettin the credit they deserve for winning. I dont see why they wouldnt of been eager to prove they r legit champions

He took a gamble and it backfired.

He said last year it's the way the league is set up now.

Either way, if Lamar Odom even played like he gave a damn at all, the Mavs win at least 2 of thsoe games against OKC in 1st round....who knows what happens from there.

However to me, now that Jason Terry is gone, this team is done.

:heh:

the fukk are you talking bout?

They peaked. You have teams that win a title and get better and become something (Bulls in 91) and there are teams that win a title and that's it (Heat in 06). Mavs were more along the lines of the Heat. The Heat took 6 years and big signings to return to prominence. Cuban basically tried to speed up the the process. If he truly believed the team could do it again I don't think he breaks them up.

the heat and the mavs have nothin in common
the comparision is convient, but it makes no sense
two totally different situations
i didnt see anything in dat dallas team dat said they had peaked
it was their first year together:childplease:

im not sayin they woulda won da championship again
but they definitely woulda been a contender
and would have a foundation to add a piece or two if necessary

they won without their starting sg

why rebuild after a ring when u no your star player is 34:childplease:

dirk and others are on record for sayin it was a foolish thing to do

should the celtics let garnett and ray allen go cause the big three has "peaked"

or should they resign dem and go for one last run during their star player's (pierce) prime while adding pieces along the way

took cuban 12 years to get a championship team
he should understand how hard it is

Celtics been tryna break the big 3 up. Ray Allen been almost traded numerous times. They even tried to trade Rondo a few years ago and traded Perkins.

I honestly don't think that team as constituted last year gets past OKC or even the Lakers. I believe last year was just a special year that was their year more so than a sign of things to come. That said I most certainly bring Tyson back. :manny: Maybe Cuban was convinced he could get Deron and/or Dwight.
