Doesn't matter what it sounds like it is what it is.

Ive been down the road of "games and comics aren't cool"

Now video games are right up there with movies and the most popular and successful movies are based on comics.

Everyone knows who Thor is now and everyone knows what GTA means.

It takes the same kind of dedication and passion and natural skill to be great at a game competitively that it does for anything else.

A lot of nikka think oh if I had 8 hours to "lay around" and practice a game I'd be good too.

Nope, it doesn't work like that, it's just the same for any of the athletes. They might be putting in the same amount of hustle but there are skill walls and certain things and areas that some excel at and others...can't.

Facts. People joke cause they have a high kd that could go "pro" which is not even close to reality. Playing a game at a high skill level against other people who are on your level or better and a strict rule set is much different than playing a public match.

If Chess isn't an Olympic sport than video games have no business being there :camby:

Nah breh, what if the company releases a patch and flips the way a game is played?

No game drops a patch that would fundamentally change a game...but like any other sport you would adapt. The NHL has moved the blue line before, cats in the NFL have a slew of rules on how to hit and that changes all the time (same with shyt like the Tuck rule etc.) The NBA has changed tons of rules over the years especially when dealing with contact in the paint.

None of those things caused people to stop playing the sport at a high level. :rudy:

Define fundamentally. I'm not talking about a patch that changes the RULES of the SPORTS.

Let me give an example

I play NBA 2k17 When it first came out the passing was Janky as fukk down low. You throw a pass to your big man in the paint and your character lobs the shyt high as fukk. Allowing average defenders to jump in front of him and intercept the pass. Same to the corners, you at the top of the key and toss it to man on the wing at the corner 3pt line and another lob for easy intercepting.

People were complaining and 2k17 released a patch to make passing better. It changes the way you play the game. Before the patch I was hesitant to throw it in the paint or sides and was more likely to try and score on my own. Now with the patch I have more faith getting it to my big men and shooters. Patches change strategies.

And so do changes to the rules of sports...you think people really focused on outside shooting in the NBA before the three point line? You think the presence of big, tough, rumbling big men fell out of favor in the NBA for a reason? No it was because physicality was discouraged in the Stern era, and the rules changed the game. You think pitching hasn't changed in the post-Steroids era of baseball?

A patch is essentially a change to the rules of the games code. Changing Ryu's MP from -3 on block to +2 on block CHANGES how I play him. Just like the NFL has changed how players are supposed to hit now, is it fundamental. No. The best way to tackle is still to wrap the ball carrier up. Its no different in games.
