I've come across videos of cats posting videos talking about watching Aladdin for the first time or lion king.

I remember there was this dude named Shawn Cee who was reacting to Madvillainy allegedly for the 1st time but he was breaking down all the samples so well that people accused him of lying about listening to it for the 1st time.

The accusations got to him so much that he made this video in response to it.

Your probably watching someone with similar interests react to something that you like/hate and seeing how they genuinely feel about it in the moment

The views on some of these channels are ridiculous. Millions of subs.. imagine subscribing to a channel just to watch someone else watch something that you've already watched

I feel that way in general, but there are a couple of young dudes who react to classic hip hop and I like to see how they take in certain songs. There's also this older white dude who reacts to classic hip hop and it's interesting to see how he perceives these songs.

Confirmation bias might be the reason for the popularity of reaction videos

I think people looking for folk to react like they do about stuff so they go to you tube and search for people react to things there into or don't like.
