Yes.
What did she do exactly? I read she mocked Black American English. Was that it?
It's the total context of her existence.
THAT as a stand alone, could be considered just a joke. But retweeting anti ados rhetoric and being (a self proclaimed) besties with the vile anti ados immigrant "Luvvie" =, NO PASSES OR BENEFITS OF THE DOUBT FOR YOU. So fukk her.

because White people love seeing slavery and civil rights movies, which is why so many of them get made, as opposed to films in which black people are living well.

they choose which projects to finance
The last two major slave movies flopped at the box office, 12 Years a slave and Birth of a Nation

I'm about 30 minutes into this, but for anybody that has seen the whole thing, does it feel entirely too glossy and cleaned up like a mid-2000s Disney movie?

lol, I thought the singing was corny until I read afterwards that Harriet would sing to people like she did in the movie. Overall decent movie. I’m good on watching anymore slave movies though. Hollywood can move on to a another time period to exploit

I get what you're saying, but Harriet Tubman isn't slave movie. She's a real American hero who deserved to have her story told.
There are a number of people who were slaves who deserve to have their stories told: Frederick Douglas, Sojourner Truth, Dred Scott, Booker T. Washington. All incredible stories that starts with roots in slavery.

You make a valid point. I would rather slavery be the background of the story and not be the main focus of movies. I would like to see more movies like the ones you described instead of another Roots remake or something like that

:jbhmm: Why doesn't Hollywood make films about the accurate yet unfold stories of white slavery? The word slave comes from Slavic ....
:what: All the hHollywood joos that make and finance these films like Steven speilburg colour purple etc..
:jbhmm: They seem predominantly interested in promoting these films year after year after nauseating year!
:camby: I don't support that sh*t

Harriet Tubman story isn't just some slave movie story; she was like a real-life superhero. One of the most important figures in Black American history.
