Right....in these rust belt cities blacks are totally disfranchised....out of all my cousins...I'm one of the only ones that didn't get trapped by the system somehow
Pittsburgh is home to the POOREST black community in America :wow:

Pretty much the majority of black people there are doomed to forever be stuck there and living a menial lifestyle just because they were born into poverty.

The rust belt is the epitome of northern racism and class disparity especially with detroit being the shining beacon of the rust belt (look at it now) and the death of industry which honestly hindered black progress and wealth in the 90s as it employed many black men and women and kept many family units intact. When that left and crack and drugs flooded the inner cities in the 80s it was over.

In Pittsburgh, unless you play for the steelers, pirates, or for Pitt...good luck finding employment or opportunity there as a black man. You pretty much have no choice but to leave.

Last time I went back to visit family it was sad to go to the mall and see so many black people working there in the food court and cleaning up as janitors as supposed to shopping there. :wow: same with the colleges. more black people working there in the cafeterias and as janitors and as athletes than actual students.

I wouldn't trade being Black for all the tea in China. The love and hate I've gotten for the color of my skin has molded me into who I am and made my skin pretty thick.
Same. Plus I got to thank my African and West Indian parents for instilling a sense of pride and identity into me at an early age.

Sadly there are too many weak minded people out there that fuel the fire of white supremacy by buying into it's projected images of inferiority and supporting its agenda. Especially people of color. And too many people are suceptible to media imagery and following the crowd, even if that crowd is in the wrong.

Pittsburgh :blessed:

My city :sadbron:
Last time I was there it was different seriously. Almost didn't even recognize it. East Liberty is nearly RIP, gentrifcation is turning it into New Shadyside. And white people living in the Hill District now too? :what:You know how scared white people were to go to the Hill District and to East Liberty back in the 90s and early 00s?

The rent prices went up a little bit too I noticed especially in Lawrenceville which seems to have become hipster central. The North Side is really different now too.

Penn Ave in East Liberty might be the most awkward and uncomfortable street thanks to gentrification. I remember DJing an event there during the art crawl in 2009, literally all the art events were filled with white people, all the black people on the streets not even caring. Someone got stabbed at a bar on the other side of the street from the event and everyone left immediately. Yoga studios and coffee shops literally blocks away from trap houses and and abandoned house on the other sides.

I don't see the issue with not accepting mulattos as black. I don't. People in that CB thread kept talking about Dave Chapelle, and other people who had a biracial mother or grandmother. I've ALWAYS made it clear that a white person can't give birth to a black person. I'm not talking about admixture. I'm talking about a direct link to white supremacy. A link that has historically given biracial people opportunities that we haven't had. A link that has positioned said biracials OVER black people. If you all are okay with letting half breeds represent you in the media, politics and pop culture then fine. Not me, and I won't apologize for my stance on this issue.
If half of your grandparents are white in no way are you black :mjlol:

That's not true at all :francis:

Our people are super colorstruck.

The difference between online vs off is they mostly don't realize when they're doing it and people aren't as confrontational about it

Nothing but the truth. Our people are color struck due to many reasons, but I have noticed that it as seen as normal and doesn't not receive backlash when a black person says, "I want my child to have good hair". I have seen this growing up, in school, at work, and my everyday life.
