In the studio, "The Time"s first three albums was all Prince with Morris Day singing lead (and playing drums on some tracks). You can hear Prince in the background on most songs and a lot of demo tracks are out there with him singing. The band WAS real on stage tho and was stealing the shows from him and it became a competition on tour. The band had talent so they didn't really like just being puppets. Jimmy jam and Terry Lewis started doing production on the side. They said they got in a snowstorm and missed a show. Prince fired them and then they went on to become legends.
