Gronk's much like Marshawn in that aspect. They play as being dumb but anyone halfway paying attention sees that they're using the media to create a name off the field. If Gronk wasn't a "party boy" and just handed the ball to the ref after he scored like like Warrick Dunn or someone, NO ONE would care about him. No party boat money, no endorsements, etc.

Gronk like Marshawn, TO, Chad, Peyton, etc. has effectively made himself bigger than the logo and helmet he plays under. That's something most NFLers will never have the luxury of saying.

You make great points. Gronk is basically a White c00n. Not c00n in the since of betraying his race. But a c00n in the classic since of, being a mistraly caricature of his people and a big joke and making his race look bad.

The privilege comes in, where his meatheadedness and buffoonery will not reflect poorly on White athletes in general. Part of me agrees with you, especially on the JJ Watt thing.
