It's a terrible feeling. It's like when Shaq was out partying every night and then the next game he would have a stat line like 30/15/4/1/3 on 60%+ shooting in his prime (actual quote: I don't know how we won the title this year. fukking partied every night). Can't hate on him though. The only likable guy on the entire team.

It's not even purely a black/white thing with Gronk because I can't think of another white athlete who gets received the same way for being a 100% meathead/jock. He was filmed partying after a Super Bowl loss and still had a ton of capes flapping. Kinda wild

I think Gronk gets by because 1) no one REALLY cares about tight ends and his style of play fits his personality, 2) he's one of the greatest to ever play the position, and 3) with those things in mind, he's doing this while being a true meathead to the core. Athletes get polarizing when they try to play their image both ways. What's Gronk ever really been asked for his opinion on?

Gronk wrote a book...and admitted that he hasn't read an entire book since 9th grade. Hasn't been even read his own book, breh.

Remember "Yo Soy Fiesta"? Gronk is the living stereotype of every great football player we knew in high school that couldn't read but you couldn't hate on because he embraces it.

People hate JJ Watt because he tries too hard with his image and achieves nothing. People embrace Gronk because he's essentially Forrest Gump.

Most of it definitely is a Good To Be White entitlement, but the other 20% is that people expect him to fukk up because they don't TRULY respect his intellect.
