DLC is stupid, and a lot of people they added is stupid. If you going to do 16, i would do these 16 and have everyone else unlocked.
1. Ryu
2. Ken
3. Guile
4. E Honda
5. Dhalsim
6. Zangief
7. Chunli
8. Blanka
9. Balrog
10. Vega
11. Sagat
12. Bison
13. Akuma
14. Evil Ryu
15. Evil Ken
16. DJ
So they copy off KI system, which got mad hate and its ok now.
I wonder why![]()
Your list is old school basic and boring as fukk. And there should definitely not be any evil versions of any characters. If they would even think of going that route, let it be in the form of a v-trigger like this new Necalli dude has rather than a waste of slot on a palette swap character. IV and many other SF games have too many of those clone characters.
Man, some of ya'll brand new nikkas slay me. Ya'll want a bloated as fukk cast filled with clone characters, then whine about there not being enough diversity in characters. Also, ya'll either have no idea or pretend to not have any idea of how long and costly it is to making different characters, from a design standpoint, to balancing to creating someone fresh/new enough to appeal to the masses, but then also want these games to come out like yesterday. The more characters they make for in the initial run, the longer it'd take for the game to come out.
I get the desire for more characters so that you have more room for finding characters that you like, but you can only have but so many before it gets ridiculous and the uniqueness of each character starts to wear thin. Also, any legit new characters/features for game made some time after the fact of its initial release rightfully should cost money, cuz it cost money to make them for certain. IV's dlc trends was still considerably cheaper than the upgrades of the past before DLC existed and V is doing an even better job at that by making them totally unlockable via in-game rather than totally having to pay out of pocket, which is great to have an option for either though. Some of ya'll are a lot more casual as fukk "fighters" than ya'll would like to admit, to whereas you know damn well you ain't gonna put in the man-hours or have the skills (if the fight money is based on wins/skills, as I'm sure it is) to unlocking the newer characters, but still want to play them regardless. Well, now you have a way to do that either which way is your preference/devotion.

I remember when street fighter only had 8 characters and people still only used Ken, Ryu and Guile.
When street fighter 4 came out, 9 out of every 10 online players used Ken. I don't know why roster size is even an issue.
glad you aren't in charge of shyt. This list is boring as fukk...E.Honda...?
Evil Ken and Evil Ryu as NON-DLC
They really didn't....Every fighter will be unlockable through gameplay and not strictly locked behind a pay wall. So if DeeJay is a new fighter...you can grind coins in game play and unlock him that way. UNLIKE KI where you must pay for EVERY fighter beyond Jago.
Came in here to say this. That list is not only boated with boring fighters that no one uses (E.Honda). The only cats I hear complaining about the roster are cats who were never big SF heads to begin with. In addition to that, 16 fighters is more than enough to start. Ultra IV has 30+ and I can name a good 10 off the top of my head that you will almost never see used or are so low tier that they aren't worth using. (Yang, Hakan, Vega, Seth, Gouken, Sakura,T.Hawk, Gen, Guy, El Fuerte) That's on top of some palate swaps with minimal differences.
Them re-designing Ken was one of the first things that sold me on the game off rip. If it was up to some of ya'll we'd still have Handcuffs Guile![]()
Outside of some of the names you mentioned as non-use (as I actually do/have used the ones bolded and know quite a few that have used all of those characters not named Hakan; And Sakura was always kinda cool character since alpha 2 imo) I agree.
Most people who complain about roster size in fighting games are casuals who'll only play the game for about a week and go back to Madden or something.
But to be real, in Ultra I only use ~6 characters (Adon, Hakan, Abel, Sagat, Fuerte and Juri). I just don't see myself utilizing an entire roster unless it's like Marvel.
They already got the new version out in arcades in JapanI wanna cop guilty gear, but I know there are probably at least five more updates to go. The fukked up part is that you can't even tell which one is the latest by the name. The shyt will be called "Veritas XX Imagine Hardcore R+ Reloaded"![]()

That's understandable but at this point in gamin, buying fighters to play offline is not really the wave. Unless you got homies that are down to brawl, it's not like it used to be back in the days before online was prominent.
Online is a huge selling point for fighters now...if you aren't going thru that, it's hard for me to picture a reason to even pick up a fighter...that's just me tho.
DLC never requires a PSN+ MembershipAccess to the store is free...
Now if you can't afford internet![]()
