So tactically, what can the Cavs do to defeat the Warriors?

It's going to be interesting to see what kind of game the referees call too.

If KD or Dray get into early foul trouble that changes everything :francis:

Well Dray got two quick fouls in the 1st. They were outrebounded, shot less free throws, Klay went like 3-16, only 2 warriors scored double digit points, and they still won by 20.

True, but that's one game out of 7

Teams dare him to shoot all the time and they live with his conversion rate

He's not a good shooter
In critical moments of the finals? That's not even a good idea to make him try to beat you with all his intangibles.

Start shumpert and have guard kd Steph will guard shumpert on defense and tell shumpert to drive to the basket every time no threes put love on green and let LeBron roam around have Frye come in to pull the centers out for irving and LeBron to have open lanes

Sounds like the Cavs are going to turn tonight's game into a wrestling match.

It'll be interesting to see if the refs let them get away with it like they did last year. :jbhmm:
they just get in foul trouble and the cavs stans gon complain bout the refs...i expect bronze to pick up 2 quick fouls :mjpls:

Golden State is healthy this year and they have Durant. I don't think there's anything they can do besides hope their whole team catches fire, because their defense is not good enough to slow down the Warriors. :yeshrug:

I wonder if Lue will try a Kyrie/Deron/LeBron/Love/Frye lineup at some point. Just throw a bunch of ball handlers and shooters out there and hope they hit a bunch of threes.
The warriors might hang 45-50 on a lineup with Irving, Williams, love, and frye together on the floor if that lineup gets 15-20 minutes together overall :picard:. That's like asking one great defensive back to fix the 2012 saints defense.

Yea..if you think anything emphasizing Shumpert offensively is a winning strategy I dont know what to tell you.

Just read this really good write-up by CBS Sports' Brad Botkin.

He explains very well what the Cavs would have to change and do to beat the Warriors and have a chance at the championship.

Highlights:
-let KD dunk all he wants
-why? Because 2 points is better than 3 points
-in the first half of Game 1 the Cavs focused on making sure the Warriors weren't getting threes, it worked for them: they actually scored more threes than the Warriors in the first half and were only down by 8 at the half, in striking range
-in the second half the Cavs allowed the Warriors to shoot threes and it was game over
-the Cavs' best chance:
1. Hustle to limit Warriors threes.
2. Give LeBron and Kyrie a chance to make it close by scoring.
3. Win the three point battle (score more threes)
-The Cavs did all three things in the first half and remained in striking distance

Dude is on point.

:ehh:

Cavs gave up a ton of dunks to Durant in Game 1, and they should do it again
