this thread shows the power of hindsight

Charlotte were stuck.

Everyone knew MKG wasnt a franchise player, but no one thought any of the players were franchise types that were drafted after him except Drummond. And Drummond had red flags around him.

If you put MKG on a team with a passing point guard, he would look better.
or a team that gets out in transition a lot.. I forget the exact stat from Kentucky but it was in his scouting breakdown video, MKG made a FG like 90% of the time if he got out in transition. Or at least a team that can spread the floor more so he can attack.

Barnes aint shyt. He still stiff. He still cant dribble the ball. And he aint quick enough laterally to guard 3s.
Why do ppl keep saying it was a weak draft when this time last year everybody was talking about how deep it was?
no one said there was a franchise player in the draft beside Drummond and Davis.
I agree. Shouldve taken Beal, Waiters, Lillard, Barnes. Any of those guys.

These guys would be terrible in Charlotte, except Lillard. Of course at that point they would have to get rid of Kemba who they drafted the year prior.

The bobcats seriously need some superstar to just fall into their laps, sorta like what lebron did for Cleveland.

Or a GM that could find a superstar after the 1st pick. Charlotte has never gotten a top 3 player in the draft regardless of where they drafted. In the 2011 draft we got Klay at 11. In the end he'll be considered a top 3 player in that draft. You can find talent after the 1st pick, Charlotte just can't seem to get right. Anybody think 3 years from now we'll be talking about MKG as a top 3 player in the 2012 draft?

Barnes was the most athletic player in the draft fam.

True, Charlotte management is just :mindblown: The fans need to hit Jordan with the :birdman:

I honestly think MKG will be a good defensive player but definitely not top 3

I didnt call him unathletic. He can jump and run in a straight line, but the boy is not laterally quick. I see that watching him. THe guy is not fluid at all.

And I see you aint mention his wack handles. :youngsabo:

Paul Pierce had wack handles coming into the league too. Barnes can make up for those handles with his post game which is great for a wing. He has a higher ceiling than MKG does.

and MKG drops 21 and 9 tonight matching Barnes' career high :smugbiden:

Barnes is soft, he's not going to ever develop a post game. MKG on the other hand can, I don't know how much he's done it in the NBA but he did it regularly at kentucky and had a nice little hook shot and was very strong in the post.

:childplease:

21 and 9 tonight

barnes is avg. 0.3 ppg more

and MKG is 16 months younger

his shot got to get better but he will be a top 5 player in this class... which will end up pretty strong at the top

problem is there are 2 or 3 too many teams in the nba thats why a lot of the bball is so awful till u get to the playoffs... Id rather watch wisconsin or syracuse play their awful styles than a non playoff team in the regular season... Only a few of those guys on Charlotte should even be on a roster
